Hey everyone! I’m trying to revive my old PS4 Pro that’s been sitting unused for about three years. My dad disassembled and cleaned it completely (motherboard, PSU, HDD, everything).

Now, when I power it on:
  • The blue light comes on (normal startup).
  • It shows the PS logo on screen.
  • Then it says:
Checking the system storage status...
Do not turn off the PS4.
After the check has completed, the PS4 will automatically restart.
  • It reaches 24%, then later 64%, and suddenly shuts off after about 2–4 seconds.
  • Right before it powers down, it gives 3 quick beeps.

We’re currently testing everything with tools only — no spare parts available. The goal is to see if it can run again without replacing anything.

So far, signs point to a possible HDD or SATA connection issue, since the system dies while checking the drive. Any advice or experience with this type of shutdown would be awesome!

K but not all previous saves will be erased ?
(also is there any way to boot in safe mode so I know it works?)
To access PS4 Safe Mode, completely power off the console, then press and hold the power button until you hear a second beep. Connect a controller with a USB cable and press the PS button to bring up the Safe Mode menu
