that compilation mod is outdated and incompatible with latest update. i've made another basic compilation instead, go check it out at post #180.
thanks for the updated compilation - if I wanted to keep all the mods but keep the intro/story recap movies presumably I just keep everything and delete the movies folder right? Or is that not possible/more difficult?

My first time playing w3 so want to have the story recap movies to help me keep track

yeah, removing the movies folder will do.

Is there any current tool to transfer saves from switch to pc with no issues? Attempting to transfer to pc via checkpoint doesn't work

I have this game on steam. With saves. I will have the switch with cfw again, everything set as it should be. Is it possible to somehow transfer saves from the latest Steam version to the switch with CFW? Will I have to start the game over on Switch?

for pc to switch, you can just restore the pc save to the switch using jksv. the switch will auto-convert it. for switch to pc however, please refer to this post:

after hours of not understanding i have a grasp of which mods work and dont, i havent been able to get any mod with a texture.cache to work OR animation mods

(my build id didnt match anyone elses on this thread but i dont care about cross saves so if you dont need cross then dont worry about build ID)

if anyone else is dumb like me atmos uses this file structure now, contents instead of titles and on top of that mods will be put in one big folder
atmosphere\contents[your title ID]\romfs\content\content0

content0\gameplay\abilities\gersalt_stats.xml

at first i thought it would be content0/mod*modname*/modfiles
but im just dumb cause it is content0/ (all folders inside the mod files will be here, gameplay, engine, fx.etc

so nothing with scripts, animations or textures (i seen someone in the thread was able to change models assuming they use default textures but i wasnt able to figure it out)

i hope this info helps someone as alot of this info is old and some outdated.

i attached the quickbms script as it was a little out of the way to track down (original authors prof page)

after a full playthrough (testing stability) i will try to post my mod compile i used

edit: also when doing the quickbms tutorial make sure to convert buffers0 as well as blob0 (you can highlight and do both in the same action)

have you try to convert lighting mod? i’ve tried to convert it and when i run the game with the mod it “kinda” worked by how the lighting flickering in the game (the mod and the vanilla lighting switches back and forth in certain map)

so i’ve tried to convert lighting mods using various tool (the quickbms and wolvenkit) and it seems like the .env file is the one that aren’t compatible with the switch. i managed to change the bloom effect(.w2l, .w2p) of the game and it works well. and also the lighting mod that i tried (stlm and tooka e3) contains some .xbm files that i guess is the file format for textures so it doesn’t work atm. i’m trying to create dump file of the game by using nxdumptool to compare the .env of switch and pc version. i’ll post the results after i finished with this

Hey everyone! I have an original copy of the game on steam and a pirated copy on a modded switch. Is there any updated method for syncing the save between steam and the switch, and vice versa, given these conditions? Even if it's a semiautomated process like a script I can run

Nope. Pirated switch saves need to be hex modified to be able to be used on pc. Refer to post #122 for instructions. If you want cloud syncing, you'll have to buy the original game and have NSO.

Hello co-witchers, i made my own merged and compilation of mods from nexus which contains of the following:

Better Trophies Rebalance - NEXT-GEN
Disable Intro + storybook videos
Health Regen Options - Adaptive Lowest
Better Horse Equipment + 9000 Weight Saddlebags
Over 9000 - Weight limit mod
Stack Your Items - Next-Gen (999)
Signs Tweak
Immersive Food and Gear Improvements
Potions Food Oils Bombs Bolts Rebalance
Change The Weather
Improved Mutations
Increased Creature Loot - Ultimate
The Gwent Card Dealer - No quest Card (safe version)

this works on
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt v4.04a & v4.04b
TID: 0100E67012924000
BID: B151A224A429F9A7
and new game+

Im using SimpleModManager v2.1.2 to activate and deactivate the mods, but if youre not fan of using SMM, you can just combine them all, there's no conflict on moving or copying the files or folders to atmosphere/contents/<TID>/romfs.

For those looking for FPS and Dynamic Resolution Tweaks you can check it here:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-witcher-3-60-fps-and-dynamic-resolution-tweaks.550211/

All thanks to our modders out there for making all this possible and easy, hope you guys will like it too.:grog:

Hey everyone! Just want to confirm that this proposed method does work! I'm using Witcher 3 on Steam and just succesfully transferred my save file from my switch using Checkpoint.

I'm going to be transferring back and forth between modded switch version and modded PC version. (Love the visuals on PC, but really enjoy portability of switch)

Finally, I'm a little new to all this so I got stuck at first until I realized what I was doing wrong. So I'm going to share and maybe this will help someone else.
  • Before you enter the command using command prompt be sure to already make a folder called pc_save_file (you'll be using this as the destination folder for the new .snf file that you will edit with HxD)
  • Also, remember to type in offzip.exe in the command and enter in the name of the folder you made (pc_save_file)
  • SO, what you type in the command should look like (according to the example already given): D:\new\offzip\offzip.exe -a D:\new\ManualSave_5a81a_7e40f000_5e09c00.sav D:\new\pc_save_file
  • Also, once HxD is open that's when you "Ctrl+G" and then type in C16, and then change the value from 16 to 12.
  • Lastly, rename the newly edited .snf file to .sav when you put it into your Witcher 3 save directory.
Good luck! :)
This method still works on latest versions for Switch and Steam!

Giant thanks for the clarification, I changed the HEX values but it didn't work for me until I changed the extension to .sav

Thanks for the mods. :)
I installed the convenience-pack but I can't understand how to change (or disable) the Health Regen mod. I cannot see any option in the game menu, so I'm wondering how to choose between the three possibilities.
