I'm an Orthodox Christian and I'm pretty sure our priests and bishops wouldn't see anything wrong if a layperson told them they'd vote for Trump, or any politician. As I've said, we don't have to 100% agree with politicians' beliefs or behavior to be able to vote for them, otherwise we wouldn't be able to vote for any party.

Christians decide what is Christian, not outsiders.

It's not that Trump was a good choice. As an individual, he's basically deplorable. But some people consider the totality of the Democrat Party platform to be more corrupt, destructive of social order, and depraved. And considering who Donald Trump is, that's really saying something.

I can't speak for anyone else's motivations but I've said it here many times. I haven't voted "for" someone since Clinton in '92. (and that was a mistake, but hindsight's 20/20)

The choices are never good, either way, so I end up voting against. And in national elections, what I am voting against is usually the Democrat Party. Not their individual candidates.
