I tried GoldHEN v2.4b17.3 and it still freezes when waking up from sleep mode for me.

please, also say your console FW and the host you using when having those problems. Also would be interesting that you describe those 'freezes' with precision. Are you meaning black screen for more than 1 minute while returning from rest mode in 17.3 version ?

It happens with pppwnGUI or with the lua exploit im on firmware 9.0.0 when it freezes it tries to wake up from rest mode then the system menu loads i can see the menu and then it freezes i can still see the picture but the PS4 is unresponsive the only thing i can do is hold down the power button on the PS4 for like 15 seconds to turn it off.

exactly the same is happening on the best 6.72 FW exploit, but never with 17.3. That issue you described started with all the 18.x goldhen betas, all of them, even the last one. Anyways you should test previous goldhen version to 17.3 just to 'know' at the end where the problems with rest mode did start.

Some ppl is reporting other kind of problems (not only about the coming back from rest mode) in actual goldhen 18.5, such as games hanging when launching and games that don't close.
Yes, I am having this problems that you have mentioned earlier with the crash in the rest mode and the games hanging when launching and games that don't close. I am confusing as nobody has replied my messages before about it and I did not found this thread before, but it is helping me a lot as I know that this problems that I have with my 11.02 PS4 Pro is happening with other users as well.

Thank you very much for your post at least I know that I should wait to see if it is going to be better in the future this situation with the latest goldhen.

Hello

I'm using an ESP32-S3 with my PS4 PRO with firmware 9.00 and the bin files of the PS4 hack with Goldhen 2.4b14 for the jailbreak.
This works well so far.

Now I wanted to install the latest Goldhen v2.4b18.6 and downloaded it via the ESP32-S3's web browser under "File Uploader."
I thought it would automatically update Goldhen to the new version (Goldhen v2.4n18.6).

But when I start the jailbreak, the old version, i.e., 2.4b14, always appears.

I previously deleted all cookies and storage on the PS4.
What do I do next, or how can I update it?

v2.40 b18.5, the last one. Exactly the same problem :(. The console got fried returning from rest mode, in the main menu. A hard reset was required to recover the console.

I begin to be tired of this because I warned to sistro tons times about this fact. We can not continue frying the console this way because something more strong will happen at the end.

I back to use the wonderful Hen Lite made by Krisztian --> https://github.com/KrisztianKende/PS4HEN_Lite
i try it too i dont have so much expirence because i jailbroken my PS4 since 1 month and with the stick and RJ45 connector

for me restmode is working fine in the last release ? FW 6.72 ... with a game in background or without a game in background ...maybe a activated plugin brings that problem? Or this problem are coming from the Exploit self? i mean pppwn is and was
never stable.
the only thing that bricks the restmode if i open Itemzflow ... i mean i can not run linux if i just open and close itemzflow in the same session .... something goes corrupt on opening itemzflow what it is , i have no clue.

Hen Lite made by Krisztian --> https://github.com/KrisztianKende/PS4HEN_Lite
i tried that but with that i can not open a orginal PKG = kernel panic

With firmware 10.01 and pppwn, goldhen recovering from rest mode seemed to crash at least once every few weeks. I mostly tried b17.3 and b18 with not much difference between them. b18.2 was crashing quite a lot more so I rolled back from that one and didn't bother checking any higher.

Now I've switched to bd-jb and b18.6 it seems much more stable overall and it hasn't crashed for quite a while (still on fw10.01) so I dunno if it's jb or goldhen related but overall things have improved.

With current goldhen version it seems that there is some kind of improvement, I tested 10 times in a row to go into rest mode and return, all from the 6.72 machine. All the tries were a success. Only one time the console needed around 10 seconds in order to fully responding showing into the game.

The lua game is amazing as it is not going to affect the hardware of the console in a long run, but the problem is that the disc is expensive and there is not fix for black screen for some games and solutions for it, but it is way better than the bdj as it is extremely stable. It just needs a patch or something to sort the games not compatible with it for some reason that there is no one to tell.

lua= disc, bdjb=disc, please explain how bdjb will affect the hardware in the long run compared to lua? 😆

And how is LUA way better with black screen games etc. 🙄

BDJB works great and is stable, I JB and then leave my console in restmode and play when I want… and ALL games compitable….
Could be months before I need to use BDJB again. (Reboot or power outage)

Lua is not better at all at this stage, it’s way worse actually

You’re using a disc that isn’t the same quality as an original PS4 Blu-ray, and over time that could lead to extra wear on the PS4’s Blu-ray drive. BDJ is new and a lot of people are happy with it, but compared with other methods, it’s the only one I don’t feel is completely safe for the hardware because of the disc quality being different from the original.

That’s why I personally prefer the Lua Disc method. In my case, I just skip the games that don’t work and play the ones that do, and that’s only about 8–10% of everything I’ve installed, and I already have 5 TB of games. I’m just waiting for a better, software based solution in the future before switching away from Lua.

Considering what I said. If there is a patch/pkg to fix these black screens for a few games as there is for BDJ. It is done, no more problems, but they just left lua disc like it was and there is no updates for it, but it is extremely stable.
