Bluetooth problem

Hello everyone

I'm now looking for a bluetooth adapter of good quality.
I have had a lot of problem with my keyboardS and mouseS for about a year now (yes, multiple mouses and keyboards).
The most common problems are input delays and the fact that I have to pair all my stuff again whenever I reboot my pc.

I already tried another bluetooth adapter, but I still had that same problem occuring from time to time.
I also already tried RF keyboard and mouse, but I had far worse problems

Spoiler: The RF problem

In short, I sometime prefer to play on my big TV screen, that is connected to my PC with an HDMI wire. It is close enough to my computer (about 3 meters away), but when playing on my couch, in front of my tv, my mouse and keyboard would get disconnected every few seconds due to interference (router, cellphone, etc.). Moving to bluetooth technology solved that problem.

I'm starting to wonder what the problem could really be. Clean OS install only worked for a few weeks. I changed my bluetooth adapter and had the same problem. I changed of mouse and keyboard and still had the same problem. I remember having opened a thread about one of these problem, a while ago, I was told that the bluetooth adapter I had (UGreen) was a good quality one.

But lately, it seems that all the problem I have are just getting even worse. Massive input delay (when moving my mouse, it sometime moves too slow, sometime too fast. When I click on something, I end up clicking on something else. Same goes for my keyboard, where letters would disappear/duplicated. For exemple, typing "I need to go" could result in "I needttoogo".

I'm not in a shitload of debt, but I still don't have the money to keep changing of hardware every few months.
So, does anyone has an idea of what hardware I should get now?

As far as I'm concerned, that's typical and normal Bluetooth behaviour... which is why I'm still using wires.

Have you checked if it's interference from other devices?
Microwaves, Internet Routers, Antennas, multiple devices connected at once could cause interference, if not, start unplugging stuff and check if it solves your problem.

Maybe it's the adapter itself, but I'm in no position to recommend you brands or other adapters... but maybe I'd try with one with a bigger bandwidth.

I mean, I only got 3 devices on my bluetooth adapter, my keyboard, my mouse and a gaming controller that is actually turned off most of the time.
As for interference from other devices, I don't really know. I've got my router next to my smart tv and that's it (I think, because my microwave is nowhere near my router/keyboard/anything I use here)

No, I didn't. Unless having two devices having three meters long wire each is an option for you, it is not an option for me.

I have spent a fair bit of time messing around with BLE over the last year or 2. I have come across devices that struggle to reliably have their characteristics read/written at a distance of 3 meters.

I don't want to just throw a recommendation out there and have you waste yet more money but I have had the best experience with Intel chipsets, especially if you get one mounted on a pci-e card with external antennae, it does give a bit more range than just your standard usb dongle.

Update:

Just got home so did some quick tests, I can use a cheapo bluetooth mini keyboard at a range of about 5m with no problems. I can't comment on needing to repair controllers, I am sat right in front of my pc so use rf.

My card is the Intel ac7260 wifi/bluetooth, it's a few years old now so you can't buy them anymore, now you can get the ax210 instead.

That's the weird part of it, i have these problems when I'm right next to my computer, not when I'm 3m away from it

Some devices have their own dongle that uses a different frequency range (still around 2.4 GHz, though…) / protocol that is hopefully less prone to interference e.g. earlier Xbox One controllers, Logitech Unifying M+KB, a bunch of third-party pro controllers. I think that's what Saiyan was suggesting.

Transmitter/receiver "blind spots"? So basically same phenomenon that happens when you're beneath cell phone network base station.

Guys, it keeps getting worse. I don't know what the heck is going on, but if I don't touch a key for about 5 seconds, my keyboard lose connection and tries to pair again. It does it both in bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connection.
I don't really know what to do now. My last resort is to try a brand new bluetooth adapter, but since some of you told me that UGreen was supposed to be a good one, I don't really know what else to try. Any suggestion?

Today, I woke up, went on my PC, and it seems like my keyboard disconnects even more often, sometime missing some keys when typing fast

I had my laptop chip just completely lose BT for months at a time - was time to upgrade that poor, tired m.2 - zero problems with a new one, and I PC via couch and BT mkb exclusively.

Time to update that wireless card. I got me this thing and it's been hauling absolute ass https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...6/intel-wifi-6e-ax210-gig/specifications.html

$10-15, and that m.2 or pcie cards will be infinitely faster than any USB, on top of not being a choked up dongle.

Is installing them easy enough? I do have two M.2 slot, and two PCIe slots (1 x4, 1 x16, but the x4 is kinda unavailable, due to the size of my GPU overlapping it). I never installed M.2 stuff yet. I did mount my GPU on my motherboard. I did break a CPU when trying to install it. My handiness is terrible (With shaky hands) so is there risks of breaking it easily? Or is it sturdy enough?

Like, any m.2 - think ram +1 screw to secure it. Only thing would be the antenna for it, but wifi/bt pcie cards have a very small footprint so you might be able to shove in that version? Laptops have those itty bitty antenna wires already shoved and routed, so not sure how that would work in a PC, and it might not even need those?

I know my cable management is poor, but I feel like this is not the only problem I have...

As I said, if I put my GPU, it overlaps the only PCIe x4 I have...
If I put my GPU in the other x16, the fans will be literally at less than an inche from the bottom of the case...

Well, it seems to be working perfectly
It's kinda a shame to have to use my x16 for this, but eh... it's not like I planed to use it anytime soon.
It also fixed the problem of having to always pair my stuff whenever I would turn off my PC.

.. Well, NUM Pad works for me in that situation in Bios.
