Pokehex works with unencrypted Pokemon saves. So any DS save file from a DS Pokemon game will do unless you got them from an emulator that does not use that, then you need to convert them into an unencrypted .sav file, then convert back to whatever the emulator uses after you are done editing it.

Hi, I'm new to this forum so sorry maybe for the stupid question. I wanted to ask why some versions of the game (specifically Pokemon White 2 and Black 2) have some more cheats. In this case White 2 has some more cheats like Event Pokemon, where on Black 2 this is not present. Can it be solved or does it depend exclusively on the game version and I can't do anything about it?
Stated in the server since you joined lol.

Hi @DeadSkullzJr I wanted to ask a quick question regarding cheats not working on a couple of games, named the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series.

FYI, on a 3DS XL, I'm using R4i 3DS Gold (WOOD R4 V1.64 from r43ds dot org) with the usrcheat.dat in the cheats folder.

On other games tested (including the main Pokemon games), pressing Y then X opens up a list of cheats. However for the PMD series (Blue Rescure, Explores of Darkness/Time/Sky) pressing X does nothing, it hangs and then I can't click any button, not even B to exit. I'll have to manually exit to home and reopen the R4 to re-enter the games list.

I've double checked the ROMs downloaded match the game ID so I'm not sure if it's a bug or if I've done something wrong on my end. Hope you can help me with this, thank you!

These are the specific ROMs (downloaded from Myrient NDS decrypted) that hangs when I press Y then X to open cheats:

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Blue Rescue Team (USA, Australia)
APHE 0603B788

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Darkness (USA)

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Sky (USA)

Might be the kernel flipping out, but outside of that, the lists should be fine. Some lists are heavier than others, because of that, sometimes it will take a bit to load up certain lists. This unfortunately can't be avoided. Given I'm redoing those lists anyways, maybe the new lists I'm working on will change that, they aren't ready yet. Attempt to load the list in one of the games, just sit a moment and see if anything happens.

Yeah, I think it might be a bug. I've tried loading the list and waiting for 5-10 mins but nothing happens. I've also tested the cheat file with only the PMD cheats (deleted the rest) but it still has the same issue. I'll wait for the next update then, thank you!

The old lists load fine on my end using Wood R4. So that's kind of weird they aren't on your end. Maybe back the contents of the SD card up, format the SD card, then set it back up. Could be a formatting issue with the card. Use this to format the card:

Trying to get Four Swords Anniversary Edition to run with cheats but none of the methods I’ve looked up and tried worked. For anyone who got cheats to work with the game, how did you set it up? I have a DSi and an OG model 3DS if either are required over emulators.

TWiLightMenu works with them fine. If you get that up and running then all you need is the cheat database downloaded and put in the correct location on the SD card.

Saw that the database includes cheats for SRW W yet when trying to activate them i get no cheats found. i thought it might be because of the english translation but it does it with the untranslated version as well

Edit: I downloaded the .dat through the universal updater and it is in the right place

Interesting. I have TWiLightMenu on my 3DS but it didn’t work on there. Should I try running it through my DSi instead?

I would check to make sure your install is updated on the 3DS. TWiLightMenu / nds-bootstrap on a DSi isn't functionally any different from TWiLightMenu / nds-bootstrap on a 3DS. I recommend you do this manually instead of using Universal Updater, manual can't fail you:

Bit of a late update, but I’m very happy to say this worked! My SD card reader in my computer stopped working for a few days so I was trying everything I could to update the files on my 3DS’ card without it. Somehow got it working again, manually updated, and everything worked just as I hoped it would. Many thanks!

No problem. Enjoy!

Does this work for the ds.44670.org Desmume web player that you add to the iphone home screen? I've scoured the internet and reddit, so I figured I'd ask the creator of the databases. Thanks! Appreciate the amount of work and years that it seems you've been doing this :)
