Hey, some time ago I made a post about my Ez Flash Omega dying.
I got a replacement from the vendor and guess what, the replacement have issues too.
My new Ez Flash Omega gives me random white screens when I try to boot a game from the SD, sometimes the game boots and runs, other times the game boots and runs then corrupts itself, other times the same game just boots to a white screen and stays there. If I copy the same game to the NOR, it boots without Issue every time.

This behavior happens in my DS Lite as well as my Gba SP, so it is not console related.

I have tried multiple roms from different sources, it still happens so it is not rom related

I have tried multiple SD cards of different sizes and brands and the same thing happens so it is not SD card related.

I've tried formatting the cards with different methods and the same thing happens.

I've tried the last official firmware and kernel AND the latest Simple kernel and the same happens so it's not related to that either.

Yes, I've read this post: https://gbatemp.net/threads/basic-repair-guide-of-current-ez-flash-products.601332/

I may suspect it is related to No. 9:

9. EZ-FLASH OMEGA/OMEGA Definitive Edition gets white screen when direct boot a game. but the same game runs well on the NORFLASH.
Go to the safe mode by power console with SELECT pressed, choose "test card" or "test psram" depends different firmware, look the test result, there is a high probability that S98 error will be displayed. The S98 chip is located at the back side of the PCB. The one at the right side in three chips. Use a heat gun to re-solder it. Please use high-temperature tape to protect other chips and components around it from being blown away.
But I'm not so sure since the same game sometimes boots to a white screen and sometimes does run.
Also some times the game boots and runs but at some point early or after some minutes the game glitches and corrupts itself with messed sprites and sound glitches, at that point I can't play no more and have to turn off the system.
As I said above, the same games run well on NOR.

I did the "test card" thing and everything says "ok"

If I use a heat gun as the guide says, will it work or it is the chip that maybe is messed?
What can I do? This was supposed to be the warranty replacement...

I'm gonna try to upload some videos about the issue.

It seems I'm out of luck with the Omegas, my original one and the replacement have failed on me pretty quickly.

Edit, added videos:

NOR boot

SD Game White screen

SD Game boots then corrupts

SD Game random corruption while playing

My advice would be to replace it again, better than doing your own repairs, those solutions are for users who without warranty.

Same issue here, cant boot games directly/normally - having EZ-Flash DE with Kernel 1.05 FW 7

Any way to downgrade and get older versions of Kernel & FW?

Haven't encountered these issues due to defects, but I have stumbled on games that do have compatibility issues with the EZ-FLASH OMEGA when using clean boot. I haven't tried NOR flashing to see if the games would work there as of yet. Tested other games I've played and they boot consistently, so it's not a hardware issue, it's a software issue.

Before my original EZ Flash Omega died, I tested the same dumps through the SD card and I never had any corruption, freezing or white screen.
Now,I tested different ROMs from the same game on this replacement unit and it is always the same issues.
I still doubt is software related unless it is at the chip level.

I had the very same issue on my Ez Flash omega as you were describing It.
White screen on loading roms and no error on the s92 chip.
My personal problem was that I bought It used and had no way to return It, so reading that one of the chips might have been the issue, I had nothing to loose on trying fixing that.
I had a hot air gun at home as well as the thermal tape ( I do small electronical repairs every now and then).
I placed the tape on the nearby Chips and then gave a good blow with the hot air gun.
After It getting cold, I reassembled the ex Flash and It now works likes charm!
I Guess not showing the error on the s92 test might be the reason why It passed their quality control test (they surely have to improve It).
Fot the job It self, I might have been lucky with the resoldering of the chip, I don't know if I would suggest It to someone Who has never done It

Thank you for your insights, personally I don't own a hot gun, nor do I have the skills to do it myself but I may find someone to do it for me since it may be the key to finally fix it.

It might be the best option if you are not able to return the item to the shop!
