Hi everyone, if you're still interested in finding configurations to fix PS1 games in Adrenaline, I'd like to let you know that the Human Entertainment game Septentrion Out of the Blue, translated into English a few months ago, doesn't work properly in Adrenaline.
Might be an adrenaline issue (which might be fixed by a config).

The english fan-translation works on a PSP and you get to the main menu and can start a new game.
(Until we have a config, I have added new assets to this game in https://github.com/sahlberg/pop-fe/actions/runs/15336527327)

@ronniesahlberg

In fact, now that I check, Septentrion Out of the Blue has a version as a PS1 classic and it has already been dumped, maybe you can simply copy the config from that official eboot and add it to the English translated version.

I don't have the PS classics version of that game. But if you can extract the config from the eboot then I can add it to pop-fe.

Hello ! I'm new to this page , but I've been wanting to play this games called TOCA 2 : Touring Cars on my PSP/PS Vita but the game does indeed work but at the top of the screen ( only in races ) there's this weird flickering/screen tearing , is there any way to solve it ? I really want to play this game .

Hello, sorry for the delay, I have the PSN eboot of Septentrion Out of the Blue JP, but I don't know how to extract the config, I open the eboot with the hexadecimal editor but I only find the Game ID of the game in one part, in the custom eboots there are 3 Game IDs and in one there is the config, I suppose it is because it is an encrypted eboot of the PSN version, its structure seems different.

Osu BRO!!! unfortunately for me i still couldnt find any fix for TOCA 2... i also wanted to play it on my PSP...the game runs fine except for the black screen above when you are in race... in my experience ive tried changing GAME ID's (it was really time consuming and exhausting) and the for configs i think i tried few times.. but negative... i also tried to reach out the_Ho about on this if he have a spare time...but as of now... its one of those games that still problematic on PSP... TOCA's black screen is still a minor unlike NFS Hot Pursuit where there is literally NO BGM while your on Race... its damn MUTE!!!!.. hahahaha

I would like to remind those who don't know, that in all those cases where you don't hear the bgm (usually these are older titles) in the converted PSX eboots, you need to install the "CDDA Enabler" plugin on your PSP. Pops itself does not originally support these audio tracks.

i remember i do have installed it and enabled it... my PSP is 3000 Brite and also tested it on 2000 Silver...still no BGM for NFS Hot Pursuit.. i have Infinity CFW 6.61.. i tested popsfe and PSX2PSP both same results..

Pretty fascinating how swapping boot sector data can unlock compatibility where normal GameID edits or compression tweaks fail. Makes me wonder if this could evolve into a more standardized patch method for tricky titles like MK Trilogy or Brave Fencer Musashi, instead of everyone doing one-off hex edits. Has anyone tried documenting offsets across multiple games yet?

Hello sir!! if your thinking about a "PATCH" you can use to the PS1 Eboot games.. Mr @ronniesahlberg had the program called (POP-FE) which if you have a BIN/CUE file of your fav. PS1 Game or a specific game if that game had a config patch on the POP-FE Database you can use that to patch when converting the games into Eboot file. These PSP Eboot config patches are carefully tried and tested by our great modders who love PS1 games to be played on PSP... at least as of now we have at least 80-90% of PS1 games working good on PSP... except for Fear Effect Games...well at least your favorite Squaresoft Games are now playable which is good!!!!...

I got a report that "ATTACK OF THE SAUCERMAN!" does not work on the PSP, so if anyone of you that have the skills to test and create configs wants something to check, here you go.

Other news, I don't think I have mentioned this before, we now have high quality manuals for EVERY ntsc-u released game. So please try that out if you have not already. It is under the PS-button/software-manual option when you have the game running.

They are harvested from https://www.videogamemanual.com/ which has absolutely fantastic quality of the scans but only focus on NTSC-U. Most of my games are NTSC-U but I have about a hundred PAL (and a handful of NTSC-J) games so I am thinking about starting a project to at least scan all the PAL/NTSC-J manuals I have but possibly also try to get others to join to help preserve these manuals. Anyone interested in helping out with this? If there is interest we can create a separate thread for it.

Thanks for the link. That website is amazing, very useful for creating PS1 game manuals for PSP, or even for Vita for the Bubbles manual.

By the way, Do you know if you can extract a config from an official PSN eboot to insert it into the custom version? For example, Septentrion Out of the Blue translated into English doesn't work on PS Vita, but maybe injecting the config from the official PSN eboot would work. Do you have any tutorials?

Sorry for my English, I speak Spanish.

I don't know how to extract the config. The data in the official PSN Eboot is encrypted and I do not know how to decrypt it.

Hello friends <3.

I made a patch to fix the black screen after the Septentrion opening video. I tested it quickly and it seems to work well, so I'm making it available.

The patch must be applied to an image in English 1.0.1, which was based on the Japanese version with:

CRC-32: 59a2d045
SHA-1: 1db5cc6aefb64bbfb4820d48bcfbb95df77e8bb2

Hugs everyone, I miss you. I'm away due to life's plans, lol. But I still follow you all.

@Snowbro88 I added @The_Ho 's xdelta patch in a separate branch for testing.
Can you test if this applies the patch and it works on a vita?
https://github.com/sahlberg/pop-fe/actions/runs/18121431411

You need to copy xelta3.exe to the pop-fe-ui directory for now. I have not found where I can find pre-built binariers for windows that would be easy to add to the github builder yet.

It detects v1.0.1 and applies the patch on Linux though I havent tested on Vita yet. (I mostly only use PSP so I don;t have a Vita on hand right now.)

It is really nice if pop-fe could automatically apply PPF and XDELTA patches when we need them so that "things just work" when people try to convert a game that needs fixes applied. So, also let me know if there are other ppfs/xdeltas for other games you think would be useful to have auto-applied. It should just work, that is my motto.

I understand. I'll try it as soon as I can. I'll let you know the results.

But recently I've been having trouble downloading from GitHub. Any file larger than 100 MB gives me an error at some point, for some reason. It seems to be my connection.

Hi, yesterday I downloaded the version of Pop Fe you mentioned and converted the game. This is what I got:

I put xdelta3.exe in the same folder as Pop Fe and also the Septentrion patch. I'm not sure if the xdelta exe was correct; I had it on my PC from the tool I use to patch separately.

I then converted it with the previously applied patch, and it works perfectly on Vita. Thanks @The_Ho

BraveFencerMusashi(USA)Fix_661_Adrenaline

- Here it is, I made a fix for Brave Fencer Musashi (USA), it seemed to work very well, I played only up to Skullpion and went from the scene smoothly to the next chapter without a black screen. The game's intro can now be fully watched as well without any problems.

DragonWarriorVII(USA)Fix_661_Adrenaline

- This is the fix for Dragon Warrior VII (again), but now the game will no longer be identified as Japanese by the PSX2PSP and the Vita or PSP save game.
any way that fix still works ive been looking for a few weeks for help on this bfm (usa) to psp vita adrenaline issue
