Well done Ploggy, maybe for next time!!! ^^

Was Wondering....What did you do to have this "Better result"?
An even more, how could a guy help you to succeed where you almost had it?
You know the adage....It's always better to have maximum numbers of brains than one and I'm sure everyone here would like you to succeed in the task. Is it a compiling process that failed? Did you try to ask Devs what could be improved in your attempt" to succeed?
Also, wondering why you don't post a question in here to solve the problem you are facing that causes that "no sprite" fact.
Seems you need the help of a level20 or above to help you, knowing your are 19....Well, just kidding but it's reality, you always need someone with a knowledge you don't have to improve yourself and achieve a goal. MESSAGE TO ALL LEVEL ABOVE 19 DEVS (it's just a ways to imagine things, I know it's not the true level), please HELP PLOGGY find out!!! (if you put your questions, I will give them to big level devs I know of, I'm not a geek like you, but I'm a communication guy that could help.
We could also make a crowd funding so that a talented guy get the small jackpot and if many gives 2$ or 10$ in the pot, you never know! I'll gladly give 10€ for the sucess of this goal.
Here is the issue page that I made and the reply that guided me to the fix :)
https://github.com/libretro/px68k-libretro/issues/155
Hopefully negativeExponent gets back to me about the sprite issue.

It works surprisingly well Ploggy! Even though games aren't really playable.. Because of the lack of sprites issue.. And they also seem to occasionally suffer from minor hitching to outright pausing for a few seconds issues as well.. I guess the Musashi 68k JIT needs a little more optimization perhaps??

But while games aren't really playable in it's current state.. It will run basic Human68k programs very well however.. Including MDX music players as well. The emulation of the YM2151 seems fine.. But the ADPCM seems a bit "mangled" and slowed down for some reason.. I'm wondering if it's a bug with PX68k or an issue with the Retroarch port of it??

Yeah, lack of sprites makes the core pretty useless for playing games. the C68k is definitely the preferred way to play apparently but until the devs make it Big Endian compatible we're stuck with Musashi core, I've taken this core as far as I can its upto the devs to see if they can to make it work 100% on WiiU. :)

Was Potator (Watara Super Vision) core on RetroArch Wii U built on Aroma yet? It was a 4-scale monochrome handheld device by Watara in 1992. it has support for TV's, too! I like to see some Travellmate/Super Vision games running!:)

I got the core to compile, tho I haven't tested it.

Just place the potator core file in the cores folder and the potator core info file in the cores/info folder and delete the core_info.cache file before booting retroarch otherwise the core may not be seen by retroarch ;)

EDIT: Tested the core myself, works fine :D

Is there a good stable working version of this? I used Aroma to load it (1.2.0), the main RA executable and it crashes. Loading a separate core (snes9x) worked, but when I restarted it after changing the theme it crashed.

I booted the core again and the changed theme was applied but anytime I try loading a game it crashes. I want to use RA Wii U for the upscaling instead if the gx WIi ports, even though the gx Wii ports great.

The newest Aroma version should be the most compatible/stable. just make sure to do a clean install and not leave any leftovers from older builds.

They're trying to fix the load issues on all cores for Tiramisu builds. They should have fix the directory/tree issues before or by the next release. As a matter of fact, they would have Tiramisu and Aroma versions by the time a new nigtly/stable version of RetroArch releases.

This is the first time.

I only got the console a few weeks ago. And softmodding it was really easy. Game installation, updates and DLC on the other hand is not so easy, at least when new to Wii U modding.

Are you downloading the latest build from my sig? https://www.mediafire.com/file/8md8k64ph7pa0q0/WiiU_Aroma_Current_Build.7z/file

Also try deleting your Retroarch.cfg in SD:/retroarch and try reloading the Retroarch Channel

Help!

About a year ago I've installed an Aroma and it worked like a charm. In meanwhile I've installed few apps which weren't working (bloodpair), so I've decided to reinstall aroma.

I've used new empty SD card and populated it with fresh aroma installation files and. I've followed this guide:

So, after going thru the steps, I've discovered that everything works just as it is as I already have an exploit installed, so I went to HB app store and installed fresh Retroarch and cores. I already had a forwarder installed on HDD drive with games. But the retroarch won't start! I've tried to go to HBC and run it from there and also nothing, just black screen with music in the background. I've reinstalled forwarder by deleting and again installing and it's the same, doesn't work

What I'm doing wrong? How can I make retroarch work again?

Forget Youtube guides for Retroarch, if you want you install Retroarch for Aroma just grab the build from my sig and extract it to your sd card..
The build comes with all the needed Cores and the Retroarch WUHB Launcher (use this Retroarch launcher to load Retroarch, there's no need to install any forwarder for Retroarch Aroma, the Retroarch WUHB Launcher provided will be displayed on the WiiU Menu automatically as long as you extracted my build correctly) :)

A sincere question, as I'm quite new to these things. By downloading from your link, can I already put the ROMs in their folders and play or do I need to download some other things? I ask because I've never used Retroarch, not even on my computer, and I wanted to leave it already configured so my brothers could play without having to touch anything else (I'll leave the Wii U at their house while I travel).

Is it difficult to install these themes, like the one in the link below, on the Wii U's Retroarch? I ask because since my brothers are children, it would be easier for them to access the games and emulators.

Once the build from that link is extracted to your sd card all you need to do is place any roms to your sd card or a usb drive (formatted to fat32)
Some Cores may require bios files to load games, you can find them online. Once you have found them they need to be placed in SD:/retroarch/cores/system.
After you've done that its just a matter of loading the Retroarch Icon from the WiiU Menu, selecting load content, navigating to your rom and choosing the Core to load that rom :)
No, but I will. Thank you.:yayu:
(I was using a builds from RA buildbot: https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.20.0/nintendo/wiiu/)
Well there's you issue.. everything from the buildbot is Tiramisu.. The build I linked is Aroma :) Only use the my linked build if your on Aroma.

I am familiar with RA, having used it since (I think) version 1.0.0.2 (or earlier) on my Wii. I got the version from your signature and, after a few hurdles (caused probably by myself) I got it working, and it works great.

I am not overall a big fan of RA, preferring standalone emulators but this version is very stable, as I have noticed for a while now that the more memory a machine has, the better RA runs.

I know this has probably been asked before and if it has I have not seen any comments on it, but is there any possibility of Mupen64 Plus?
I have Not64 for Wii and have used it on vWii, but the upscaling (as well as any Wii, and GC software with Nintendont) does not look all that great even when the Wii U is set in 1080p.

I mean it does look better than a normal Wii in 480p, but it does not look like true upscaling.

I'm glad its working for you, there was some work towards a Mupen64 Plus core by Clownacy but there hasn't been an update for a while now, but hopefully Clownacy carry's on working on it.

Thank you very much for answering this question.
Which emulators would I need to look for cores? Is there a list for this?
