Welp, guess PicoDrive has lightgun support but not on the libretro port.
I'll just keep recompiling PD on 1.7.6...

Btw, did u test the other cores?
Gearboy to see if it is stable on at least one version.
gpSP to see if the ZIP support was fixed, by discarding SS's changes related to ZIP.
I have not tested yet but i'll post results soon.

Test results... @SaulFabre

Gearboy 1.7.9 - Crash on me starting a 3rd game in same session.

Gearboy 1.7.6 - 12 consecutive games booted and played at 60 fps with Save / Load support. For now this is the best Gearboy core ever if RA nightly releases don't fix the zip issue. This core is better than Gambatte imo, not all the bells and whistles but where it counts, Speed!!! This will be included in Frank.

gpSP 1.8.1 - Full speed but unstable, code dump on 2 separate occasions.

gpSP 1.8.1 OverClock - This is the first OC i remember having better stability than normal. 7 straight boots in same session without issues with save / load support and 60 fps on all heavy gba games. Zip support is back!!! Your gpSP recompiles are without question the fastest and only Wii GBA emulator that runs Full Speed. This will be included in Frank.

On another note, it is sad what has happened to RA mGBA. It was once the 2nd best Wii option behind the standalone, now it is absolutely garbage. Unstable and slow as dirt, what a shame. 1.10.3 included in Frankenstein still rocks but avoid anything else.

Didnt get any code dump in my tests, did u delete all old config before testing?
Btw, when or in what moments did occur the code dumps?
Beware that u could need to give different config file names to both normal and overclocked versions to avoid possible conflicts.

Glad to hear that.

Did u try latest standalone mGBA?
Sad to see mGBA on RA falling horribly. But probably the slow speed is because of the increase of the emulation accuracy.

Yes, mGBA 1.10.5 runs great. It is obviously the best overall Game Boy emulator for GBA and damn good at both GB and GBC.

However, it does not support overlays/bezels and although only a very few heavy games (6-10 i know of) are not full speed, gpSP has none i am aware of. Both RA and SS mGBA cores are full featured for GB/GBC and support bezels.

BTW, tonight i have figured out how to get bezels to work in all of your Retro recompiles. The settings @cheloruiz79 uses gave me a couple ideas, with some image editing and dimension changes, we can now play your recompiles with bezels.

Edit: This also works for @Wiimpathy arcade cores.:)

A clean recompile of gpSP (normal version since the overclock build works fine), maybe i missed something in the previous recompile, so it should stop giving code dumps or at least have less of these errors.
Until git https://github.com/saulfabregwiivc/gpSP/commit/141ba7828c5c634589b248809f4bc4a2a7c06387
Compiled with RA Wii v1.8.1 (RA libOGC, EXTERNAL_LIBOGC)

Also, new build of PicoDrive until git https://github.com/irixxxx/picodrive/commit/25b80647ec6a04d3901a20b791a0dfcceef2cae7
Compiled with RA Wii v1.7.6 (RA libOGC)

And new builds of mGBA until git https://github.com/libretro/mgba/commit/c9bbf28b091c4c104485092279c7a6b114b2e8ff
Compiled with RA Wii v1.7.6, v1.7.9, v1.10.3 (different builds)

Please test these builds, thanks ;)

(coming from my PM of RA-Wii Frankenstein)

VisualBoyAdvance-M to latest v2.1.11 until git https://github.com/visualboyadvance...mmit/ddc93ec6e1d2a22c3b3f09ca5702bf9fcff37e12 (newest changes won't compile for some reason)
compiled with RA v1.7.6, RA v1.7.9, RA v1.15.0.
RunningSnakes:
All VBAM cores are stable but 1.15.0 is a little slower on heavy games so 179 will be used again.

PokeMini until git https://github.com/libretro/PokeMini/commit/19095803f1434eb980db6e4004187a4b786e20b6
Can't believe i had to recompile this one since it has a fix for savestates.
Compiled with RA v1.7.6 and RA v1.7.9
RunningSnakes:
Both Pokemini 176 and 179 recompiles work beautiful, 179 will be used for Frankenstein.

@RunningSnakes
also here's a test build of mGBA with RA Wii v1.10.3 (RA libOGC) until git https://github.com/libretro/mgba/commit/c9bbf28b091c4c104485092279c7a6b114b2e8ff where i applied this commit https://github.com/saulfabregwiivc/mGBA/commit/82aaf6731441c27927cc5d2fe272a053352feb5b to try to fix the slow speed issues, by calling to use PowerPC code in the Makefile.

Please test these, thanks ;)

Yey all, tried today to play 3 or 4 players in Captain Commando through MAME 2000 core (the only one that allows to change DIP switches in MAME OSD menu) but players 3 and 4 are completely unplayable.
The characters start moving alone and no control response.

Anyone made this to work properly on the Wii??

Did u try playing that game with FB Alpha 2012 CPS1?

Yes I used the diagnogstics inside the game on FBA, but for this one you can't change any option (you can for most CPS1 CPS2 games: difficulty, number of players, coin options, etc).
With FBA you can access diagnostics. With MAME you can go to diagnostics and also from the Mame Menu go to dip switches.

Looks like MAME 200 is too old or has not 3 and 4 player well implemented. I'll make a test with other multiplayer games on this core and see what happens.

i forgot to also ask this, did u try the FBNeo CPS-1/CPS-2 core included in RA-HEXAeco?

Paprium support, possible?
You beat me, there's a modified core of Genesis Plus GX that runs it, but depends on a more recent patched dump that overrides the crashing on one of the levels and its only for PC Retroarch which such core you need to override, it also comes with mp3 music rips needed for the BIN file.

Wonder how long until at least the RA wii core of GenPlus becomes compatible, hopefully for the Frankenbuild as well.

I wanna know what the whole deal with this mess of a game is.

Hello everyone.

This project is not dead, but i haven't had much free time to keep compiling newer cores with older RA.

But i write this to announce this.

I was working with irixxxx to support OGG Vorbis (basically ISO+OGG+CUE) audio playback on PicoDrive, where after a lot of trial and error, we got it working.
See https://github.com/irixxxx/picodrive/tree/ogg , https://github.com/irixxxx/picodrive/issues/180

While we were working on OGG Vorbis support for PicoDrive, we also found the exact cause of why OGG isn't working on the libretro cores of Genesis Plus GX (which PicoDrive has some similar code from it).
With the help of irixxxx, we also fixed it and i've pulled a PR: https://github.com/ekeeke/Genesis-Plus-GX/pull/592
I would like to thank to @ploggy for helping me test this fix on the Wii U, which it was confirmed it is now fixed.
Same for Wii.

I've also noticed that someone modified Genesis Plus GX to add support for the game Paprium. However i didn't tried it, but here's the branch: https://github.com/MAVProxyUser/Genesis-Plus-GX/tree/LittleManProject ; https://github.com/saulfabregwiivc/Genesis-Plus-GX-Cover-MOD/tree/paprium-support-libretro ; more info found in https://github.com/libretro/Genesis-Plus-GX/pull/378

If i have the time and if we're lucky, i'm gonna post new builds of Genesis Plus GX and PicoDrive which include said things i mentioned.

Stay tuned.

I was wondering when this project would be updated, and yes, i wanna test Paprium.

PicoDrive now has officially added OGG Vorbis support, which was tested by me and irixxxx in our conversation: https://github.com/irixxxx/picodrive/issues/180
Pinging @niuus to this.

For Genesis Plus GX, OGG Vorbis playback is now fixed as well on all builds posted here. The OGG Vorbis playback fix commit on Libretro (standalone GX port is unaffected by this change since it also works fine there) is here: https://github.com/ekeeke/Genesis-Plus-GX/commit/8e3e7059998df79ae58b35250f3a0199b5d68e80

I see ekeeke just released an update to gx yesterday, are these recompiles affected by this? Broken CD compatibility has been fixed at least in my limited testing.:)

BTW, thank you for these updates, I will test here soon.

Since the new commits by ekeeke was made after i built these builds the answer is no.

It needs to be recompiled again to add the latest commits after my OGG Vorbis fix, which i made along with irixxxx.

But its said that Genesis Plus GX standalone builds are way better unless u want Libretro for some reason.

Ok, some quick tests...

Paprium mod core - black screen freeze on both Wii and Dolphin for me

GX libretro fork core - also black screen freeze on both Wii and Dolphin for me

GX ekeeke core - working very well in limited testing. CHD is supported in this recompile and CD / Chuck Rock is working correctly. Also hiding MS side borders is now supported :)... I will test much more but for now this core is definitely an upgrade to previous included 1.8.8.

I have not tested new Pico core but assume .ogg support is for CD games, I actually don't have those to test. I will test other games through Pico for save/load and stability and report back later.
