1.5Tb SD card - possible?

Which capacity microSD card did you use? Previously, I had a 256GB microSD in my Switch v1 that is Kingston branded. Never had any problems so far in terms of partitioning the card or running out of space. 256GB is about the minimum requirement for EmuNAND, and it was the cheapest that I could get; however, it's best to go with something higher like 512GB or 1TB as you had mentioned if you want to install a whole lot of games.

An emuMMC/emuNAND partition is around 32GB, then a separate NAND backup as a file (which is required for restoring in-case of a brick) also 32GB, which in total uses up about 64GB of space on the card. This can be quite problematic with 128GB or lower cards which will tell you that Hekake failed to create it because of insufficient space.
Went from a SanDisk 1TB Ultra to a SanDisk 1.5TB Ultra. I just install too many games. I think I have close to 150+ games on my Switch. Do I play them all? Nope! Lol. I just keep them on there, just in case, you know? With the upgrade to 1.5TB, I now have around 470 GB free. So it's a little overkill now lol, but I could load it up with more games that will probably just sit there as well lol

Now my wife has a SanDisk 400GB Ultra microSD card, and now that's overkill for her. She has like 4 games on it. BotW, TotK, Pokemon Scarlet, and Rune Factory 5. So yeah, for some people 256GB is enough.

Realistically, I could downgrade to a 256GB and just play the games I do tend to boot up most often, but I prefer the convenience of knowing that I could play any of the other games I have when super bored.

If you still have your old card, or one that is detected and working, try using HDD Raw Copy to basically duplicate it onto your 1.5Tb, then extend partition to make use of the additional space. Just note that this will take a while, so the smaller the source card the faster it'll go. When I had issues with SXOS detecting SD cards this solved them for me.

I think the switch corrupted the boot sector of the original card. PC can't read it now.

I bought a 1.5TB to use for a modded switch. Haven't used it yet but I think it'll be good because Nintendo games and variations o Pokemon alone use up a lot of space.

Im currently using a 1tb silicon pro SD card with emunand setup. Never heard of emunand not working with larger cards. Instead of downloading every game its better to install the ones you know you'll actually put hours into. That can save you a considerable amount of space.

Perhaps you've checked already, but if it's not appearing after plugged in have a look if the card is there, but with a missing drive letter.

It's not there or being detected by the pc. I had everything copied over to the new 1.5 Tb card, but getting boot errors before hekate with the new card. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Put new Atmosphere on the card, new bootless update to get to 19.0 once I was in emunand, new hekate_ctcaer_6.3.0, and the new fusee which I didn't think I needed still.

It works fine with a 1.5TB sd card. h2testw takes a little more than a DAY to write and verify the card. Tinfoil and the switch takes a little bit longer to load in some cases when you have that many games installed. Mainly when viewing the list of games.

You mean you cant format it through disc management right click the windows icon on your pc and go to disc management and see if its visible if it is right click and format it.

It was a bug in hekate that's long been fixed.

I went from a 1TB SanDisk to a 1.5TB PNY and no complaints. Just make sure to use a tool like the official SD Format utility to get the best performance.

I think you don't need that much space for an SD card (And they are REALLY expensive).
I paid $150 for my 1TB Sandisk a few years ago and $110 + tax for the 1.5TB PNY earlier this year so not nearly as expensive as they once were. The 2TB ones are around $200 but will likely come down just like the 1TB and 1.5TB ones did.

I've had this happen when multiple card readers are used together.
