Bricked vWii under Aroma

Hi guys,

I'm fairly new to the homebrew scene - not exactly a noobie, but new at WiiU. I'm a unix guy in my day job....

I tried to install WiiFlow on my Aroma hacked WiiU following a youtube tutorial, and I've bricked my vWii somehow. The WiiU works fine, but I get black screen on starting the vWii.

I have a NAND backup, but I dont understand how to restore it. I've been working on it for days with no luck.
Google says to use VWii_NAND_Restorer_Wii_U - but that doesnt work under Aroma. It requires Mocha, and thats too old - I cant find a way to install Mocha in 2025 - Mocha seems to have been replaced everywhere by Aroma. I thought I could get Tiramisu working and try the program under that, but again, its been replaced by Aroma.

I've also tried vWii-Decaffeinator - both light, and agressive modes - but while it works a bit better (I get the WII logo flash up now) - it still goes to black screen.

I've also tired extracting the slccmpt.bin, and manually copying the files over via FTP, but it wont boot that way as the permissions are incorrect, and you cant change permissions via FTP. Frustratingly I havent been able to find a way to get the permissions changed., as all options I've found to do that (again) require Mocha. WUPServer doesnt seem to work on Aroma either.

Please can someone help? At my wits end.

Did you run the system update after Decaffeinator?

Yep. Update runs and applies fine. But vWii still bricked

Aroma has Mocha. But the problem is, that the restorer is still an elf, which isn't Aroma compatible. You could just put Tiramisu on the SD and use it one time.

Also try the vWii without any USB device or SD card inserted
