Yeah that’s not going to work, how will you fit a 64mb game into a 32mb emulator? I also tried jeopardy and wheel of fortune, which also used FMV, and it crashes on the classic controller screen. At least I know I’m not the only one in 2024 that still does N64 injection, and it’s not a very good base wad too. It can’t run ANYTHING. Not even something as simple as puyo puyo sun 64, or international superstar soccer 64 aka Mundial Ronaldinho Soccer 64. hope I didn’t sound rude
ok, turns out i was wrong about the "It can’t run ANYTHING" part, i found out why my injects for PPL have been crashing on the classic controller screen when using this base wad, i always had a feeling it was because of this, turns out PPLs wad uses romc for its wads, while it may not seem like it, i used tiggers honey hunt, and those 2 games i was talking about, compressed them to romc and turns out i was right, PPLs wad does use romc, i was able to get the games booting after the romc! too bad PPLs wad isn't used that much, and also @vbarros22, n64 FMV works in other wads like bomberman hero and ogre battle 64, i checked and it works great! i used jeopardy in bomberman hero and ogre battle 64 and the FMV looked good.

Hey @SaulFabre or @CatmanFan is it normal that every time I try to make an inject for Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, I get a “file type is invalid” message dispute me using .n64 and .z64, and it’s not the rom, I try 2 roms (rev B and v1.2) and got the same result for both, I take out special characters, still the same, and it’s only this game that has this issue, no other n64 roms do this

I have a little problem: When i am trying to make NES VC, the banner i pick doesn't apply to the Wii itself. I've tried it multiple times, but it still doesn't work (It defaults to SMB 3 while i try to upload a Donkey Kong image) In Friish, it shows up as that image, but not on the wii menu or in the system settings. Please fix this if possible, because i have no clue what is causing it.

@CatmanFan Hey there, I made a GBATemp account just to ask this, (apologies if it's been asked before) but is the flash injector working properly? I'm been using the suggested base rom and I'm only getting a black screen each time I try to inject (what I presume) are ActionScript 2 games. Very cool program! I'd love to hear from you

i'm not CatmanFan but i'm a contributor to FriishProduce and i'm a beta tester for him.

Anyways, glad to help.

What Flash game are you trying to inject?

There were a few, mainly, I was trying to inject Jinx: A Dark and Stormy Night, it may not be ActionScript 2, but when I checked it appeared to be. Then I tried to inject Intrusion, which I'd imagine wouldn't work very well regardless. I followed a youtube tutorial which is why I'm not too confident in my version checking. :P

But yeah, mainly I wanted to see if the Jinx series from YTV/Corus Entertainment could be ported over.

Help would be much appreciated :)

Hi,

Awesome, the GUI is intuitive and can be used easily, Very good job.

Yesterday I tried to create N64 VC chanel for a big rom (The Legend Of Zelda Sealed Palace Dialogue.n64 => 65 MB)
Unfortunately, I got an error message that explains the file is too big.
I also tried with an older injection tool, I got the same limitations.
Do you think it's possible to bypass this problem or it is definitely impossible to create the VC channel by using a such file ?
Thanks in advance for you help. :-)

You can use Not64 to make the wad, the VC emulator('s) can only "handle" up to 32mb so anything other then 32mb is not injectable and if you somehow bypass this limitation, the wad is just going to be a black screen, and let me give you some advise just incase you don't know, ALWAYS enable the expansion pack if you're going to use ROM hacks like SM64, If your wad is just a black screen, that might fix it

Only this morning I got some time to test. It seems work well by using 'Not64' method.
If I understood, it use the single rom loader to create a channel that directly launch the game from arguments (good job).
I have also seen that you use an embedded not64 version from 2022 (boot.dol), I have just updated the private directory to use the lastest version of 'not64' (02/2025). I think 'Not64' auto detect if roms need expansion pack because there is no option to enable it. ;)
Thank your for help that was very pleasant.

I've had trouble using this tool for flash injects specifically, unfortunately, which sucks cause the process for injecting VCs without it is a bit lengthy, at least the way I've been doing it
I've managed to get everything working, except every game injected no matter the type(Flash,SNES,etc) black screens on launch.
Tried different regions, different bases, double and triple checked region free everything is working and set.

I tried download and adding the database provided in the comments, in attempts to add different bases to try, but even entirely unmodified, Friishproduce app says it can't recognize the format.
If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

it says that i cant connect to the internet
I'm having that problem too, as a temporary solution, use an imported base wad, rather than the "use a downloadable base" option.
This means you will need a copy of one of the wads currently allowed as a base in Friishproduce, or add a "custom database" if you're able to - I haven't been able to.

You can try the Ruffle Flash Demo and run the SWF File for "Jinx: A Dark and Stormy Night" on there. Ruffle gives information of the SWF Version, Flash Player Version, and ActionScript type; it is found from the info icon ( i ) near the top right corner. Ruffle determines the ActionScript type if the bytecode contains DoAction (AS2) or DoABC (AS3).

Also, any WAD you use for injection must have the SWF File in AS2 (or "ActionScript 3: False" from the Ruffle Flash Demo). The WAD displays a black screen since AS3 SWF files, or AS2 SWF files that are over Flash Version 8, cause a softlock. If the game happens to be AS2 but is over Flash 8, you can use a decompiler to downgrade whatever Flash Version the SWF is to Flash 8 or lower. My best choice for WADs is the "Flash Placeholder WAD", and I create injections off of the 0.26 beta version of FriishProduce.

Hope this helps.

I noticed that certain Flash files crash the wii when I open it (such as SMB Crossover and Supra Mayro Bross) If anyone knows, why is this the case?

Maybe these games won't run in the Flash emulator on Wii.

You'll have to check if the game was made for a later Flash Player version other than 8 or earlier, and/or if the game was made using ActionScript 3.0 (AS3).

(PS: AS3 is NOT supported by the Wii's Flash Lite 3.1 emulator, which is a "shrunk" version of Flash Player 8)

To check the specs of a SWF file, go to Ruffle SWF Player (https://ruffle.rs/demo), click in "Select File" and select the SWF you want to check.
Once it loads, click in the "Info"
1745356077321.png
button and you'll get a small screen with all the SWF info.

The most important specs you have to check is FP Version and ActionScript 3.

If ActionScript 3 says "true", then sorry, the SWF is NOT compatible with Wii.

Now, if ActionScript 3 says "false", check the FP Version. If the number is 9 or greater, then you'll need to modify a bit the SWF to change the needed Flash Player version.
This can be done using JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler (https://github.com/jindrapetrik/jpexs-decompiler/releases).

Again, the game MUST NOT be coded with AS3 (ActionScript 3 = false) and the game must expect maximum Flash Player 8 to be able to at least boot on Wii (FP Version = 8 or lower/earlier).

Hope this helps.
