What type of donut are we even talking about, he ones with a hole in the center? Those I like filled with chocolate, though they're pretty rare.
The ones without a hole I prefer either custard or Eierlikör (basically liquor made from egg, pretty popular here in central Europe).

You can get donuts that do not have a hole in the middle, such as with jam or custard donuts or with any other filling. This is to prevent it from seeping through.

I do like glazed, but boston cream is a great choice.

Boston creams have to be done right, though. Not too much innards, I don't want it to explode upon chomping.

Do not skimp, do not overfill.

Boston Cream donuts are my favorite if made correctly. I hate when they are made sloppily though, as they look and taste like a pile of custardy mush.

Any variety of Old Fashioned at Mister Donut in Japan. There's regular, a version with a chocolate edge dipped, a version with a strawberry edge dipped, honey glazed, etc. But if I'm choosing, I just want the regular. And black coffee. (the other two donuts were my daughter's)
