I'm in the server, and even part of the project itself. Basically, the gist is this:
We've got the entire script translated already. The issue is getting said script inside of the game. Our latest development is that our leader is currently crafting a tool that should make this much easier for us. We have already had ways to insert script (we already have Days 0 and 1 translated as a playable beta!) but they have proven to be really hard and stuff.
English Patch done? NOT YET. There is a DEMO that goes up to the end of Day 1 but not the beginning of Day 2. Link is on Page 1.
I'm using a gba emulator (more specifically my boy) on my phone so I'm wondering if I have to do something else to use the translated file?

i'm sure that the patching process is going to work regardless. When in doubt, you can try a libretro frontend emulator like Lemuroid, RetroArch, or Pegasus, then download a GBA core from there.
As promised here's the new release of The Subtitler!
This release adds an updater. Simply double click updater.exe and it will download the latest translation from salixa's github, and convert it to the subtitles format.
It now replaces correctly tags in the game's script like your name, your partner's name, etc when they appear in dialog. It doesn't work in 100% of cases because there's weird combinations that rarely appear and are not worthy of spending lots of time working on. It still works for more than 99% of the times tags appear.
There's a new feature (more like a workaround) to get translations for when the game gives you options (when you're talking to someone and it gives you answers to choose from like "I'll do it"/"I'm not going to do that").
Since it seems impossible to detect when the game gives you options without doing lots of reverse engineering and rewriting most of the subtitler I took a different approach.
When the game gives you options right click inside the subtitler's window and notepad will open with the translations for the options from the current script in the game (it may show more options than the ones currently ongoing). It's a little annoying but it's the only way I could do it. The japanese text in the game won't completely match the real japanese text you'll see in the notepad window if the ROM is patched but you'll be able to identify the text easily.
This is probably going to be the last release of The Subtitler unless there's some important bug to fix or new feature needed that I haven't noticed while testing it.

Just so you know, you aren't a loser. If you studied multiple languages and can translate stuff then that's a marketable skill that can help you land a job.

Since last month, we've actually been able to make some steady progress.
Up until now, we have only had a patch for Days 0 + 1 fully translated, but we have just made a patch to include Day 2!
IMPORTANT POINTS
[U][B]It's only for Day 2.[/B][/U] This isn't a full patch yet. It only has Days 0-2 in it.
[U][B]This is not a public release.[/B][/U] We are currently testing the beta patch to make sure we haven't missed any dialogue, and to find any other possible bugs.
[U][B]When will we have a public release?[/B][/U] The plan is for the next release to be a full patch. So, the answer is "[U]when it's done[/U]". We plan on making announcements as each day is finished.
[U][B]State of the project.[/B][/U] We've finally got to the point where we could make a new patch! Most of the game had already been translated, but we had some programming issues preventing us from getting the translations into a patch. These issues have been mostly resolved, which is why we are hoping for more regular progress. At the moment, we're currently doing a lot of proofreading and fixing some visual bugs. About 95% of the game has been translated. However, it's been done by a few different groups of people over the years. We've been proofreading the script to make sure all the dialogue is consistent, and to raise the quality of the translation in general.
Many thanks for the offer for importing, but the team has that part covered lately with a brand-new script importer. There have been talks about importing fixes for Days 0-1 along with importing Day 3 for the Testers and Proofreaders to go fixing. Changes include but are not limited to:
a couple of named characters, all who have had official Anglicizations contained within the official promotional material for the game. Vee is actually supposed to be V.E, Serg is supposed to be spelled Sarge, among others.
a bunch of graphical bugs have been repaired, such as that funny overlapped space for when you get a sword shapestone as a level up reward.
"Summon Stones" being reworded as Summonite, and every mention of "blacksmith" to be replaced with Craftknights, to be more consistent with what Atlus has put down as translations in previous games. As mentioned, the translation has been performed by multiple members throughout the years. The proofreaders' role is to lay down these ground rules and check the translated script for inconsistencies.

Aside from the proofreading, there have been a few other changes. One big one is that we made a new text font. Now it looks similar to the font used in Swordcraft 2. I actually booted up Swordcraft 2 like an hour ago to check something. But then I noticed the period in our font is one pixel wider than Swordcraft's and it bugs me a little.
Another small change has to do with the name of a character. There was a character whose name was spelled four different ways for some reason, so we took a vote and decided on one. His name is Serge. I don't think he appeared in Day 0 or Day 1.
As usual, while we have made some significant progress in this last month, there is no set release date. It's done when it's done.This is a volunteer project, so we all just do this for fun. I hope.

This entire translation rollercoaster for this game has been a real shit-show to watch. I appreciate everyone's hard work, but jeez, I've never seen so much drama happen over a single game translation.

Since I became leader, I've been posting monthly updates to the discord server. I usually do it in the back half of the month. I'm going to start posting them here as well. I've been meaning to make an account here and post something for a while, but I've been a bit intimidated by the process. I don't really participate in any kind of social media much. (I assume forum sites count as social media.)
Here's a general overview of the project:
As you know, the project has been going on for a long time. I know just about nothing about events before I joined 2 years ago, just that team leadership and members have changed hands a good few times.
When I joined, the team leader at the time had recruited a good handful of people for various positions. I had a few roles, but I mostly focused on programming (not romhacking). She wanted the programmers to work on making some tools that would streamline the translation process. Long story short, the process used to be very inefficient with a lot of manual copy pasting. Now it is not.
A few months ago, I was asked to take over as leader. Since then, the process has been streamlined a bit more, and we are capable of making steady progress now. As @KishiAri said before, the proofreading process has gotten up to Day 7 of 13~ish. The game is about 100% translated, it's just been done by different groups, who were not all native English speakers, hence the proofreading. Also different groups would use different names for the same characters or items sometimes.
I'd also like to state that we can't promise an estimated release date, we can only promise that we'll keep working on it. I honestly just have no idea how long it would take. I've never done anything like this before. I'm also not too good at estimating time anyways.
