Save file problem

So the HDMI port on my PlayStation 3 broke.
No problem. I bought another one. It's 50 bucks. Same model and everything.

It took a week to do the backup and then it didn't back anything up other than my custom theme that I had and my trophies but my saved files and my games but those didn't transfer over even though it says that it used up enough memory to do that

No harm, no foul. I simply went to downloads and redownloaded all my games. In fact, I went ahead and put PS3 in on my system

So now the only problem I have is that I I'm on chapter 10 on The evil within and I just want this one save file.

When you go to the old PlayStation 3 and plug it up to an older TV with the AV cables and I go to my save file. The only option I have is to upload it to PlayStation Plus

I think PlayStation Plus is trash. There's not a single game on there that I would benefit from downloading for free. There's not a feature of any kind that would make owning PlayStation Plus worth $10 a month to me.

You're supposed to easily be able to transfer it to my USB stick. However the only option and I just talked to PlayStation themselves. The only option that it gives me is to back it up to PlayStation Plus.
So I'm supposed to spend $10 just to get my save file back and that's trash.

Does anybody know anything I can do?
Honestly all PlayStation would have to do is give me a free day trial which I know they have the ability to do but because I had PlayStation Plus in the past I don't have the ability to do a free trial.

It's an easy process, and you gain a lot of freedom from doing so like playing ps3/ps1 game backups etc.
If you think you're ready to do it, follow this guide to install cfw, but only if you have a cfw-able ps3 (fats & some slims), if not sure read this. The other method is HEN and works on every and any ps3.

It didn't work said my save was corrupted
But it worked for puppeteer save data
