The SP wont't turn on properly. The red light flickers. The console does charge for a while, then the orange light turns off. I think its a power problem and not related to the screen install. What would you suggest as a solution? I will use another donor console if I can't fix it. I had a similar power problem with this same SP before and I fixed it but I can't remember how. I've tried a DS battery as well as the SP battery. I've also thoroughly cleaned the switch.

GBA SP switch can be very unreliable.
Try to open the shell and spray the switch with some contact cleaner and move it on and off.
Make sure your batter has some charge.

I sorted. It wouldn't turn on because I had the ribbon cable for the new retro six screen inserted the wrong way around. Simple fix.
