How is the 3DS SpotPass revival project going?

I would love to get these bonus DLCs, so how is the SpotPass revival going? Do you think we would need another 3DS to transmit the SpotPass data, or a WiFi router?

The question is unclear. What do you mean by "these bonus DLCs"? Are you thinking of a specific game? Have you been reading about something in another thread? Is there some reason you're not bumping that thread instead of starting a new one?

At this point I don't believe there is anything that can't be accomplished just by injecting the right data in the right place with Godmode9, or otherwise by editing your save data.

A campaign to archive Spotpass content from people 3DS was made, and some data was released from that. But only the raw save files as far i understand. Nothing you could easily inject as it is.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't "create a transmitter" for anything at this point (or at least not with anything that's been publicly released).

Not sure what you mean by "Mario Kart 7 extra content". Isn't that just ghost data? A Google search for [mk7 spotpass ghosts] turns up https://github.com/raicool/MK7-Ghost-Manager , which I guess is still a work in progress.

Yes, but that was years ago, and as you point out, that still required one of Nintendo's servers.

There are already many lengthy threads on the subject, though I admit a lot of them are out of date.

Needless to say, if there were major new developments, they would be huge news.

Ok... Would it be legal to recreate the server's using the SpotPass dumps? Will anyone actually do this? Also, are the SpotPass dumps released so anyone can attempt this?

Who knows? It's a difficult problem.

You'll have to be more specific about what "spotpass dumps" you are referring to. If you want to add new MK7 ghost data to your MK7 game, then you can already do that, apparently.
