You got 50% chance of it being patched and 50% of it being unpatched, you wouldn't know until you push a payload.

Oh wow, most safe bet would be buying unpatched Switch on Ebay, but they are almost 2x over MSRP.

Possibly means we don't know. Early serials were unpatched, late were patched. Either look for one that's unpatched or if you've already bought it try and launch a payload.

Patched switches still boot to RCM. The screen just stays black when you try and launch Hekate. Hold power for 30 seconds to turn off.

You could just put the switch in RCM mode and try and launch Hekate. If it's unpatched you'll get into a menu even with no files on the SD card (or no SD card).
