I'm gonna be honest and admit that I did not see that coming, I thought it would be the electoral college again. Wdyk, that bullet did help him
I had confidence he would win the electoral college, but I had no confidence in him winning the popular vote, or even my state of PA.

I am quite literally the only person I know who said he would win the popular vote. I wish I were a betting man lol.

I don't know much about US electoral system, but is it that common to win the electoral college but not the popular vote?
Here in Canada, it's quite rare (though the disproportionate representation is not rare at all)

It has happened three times in the past 20 years I think?

I see... I think last time Trudeau was elected (2021), he was elected with a minoritary government but lost the popular vote (or maybe it was the previous one, in 2019)
EDIT : Nvm, it was actually both
EDIT 2: But before those two times, the previous time, in a canadian federal election, where a Prime Minister was elected without the popular vote, it was in 1979

BTW, when talking about disproportionate representation, take a look at the results of last Quebec provincial election

There is a total of 125 deputies. The Coalition Avenir Quebec earned about 41% of popular vote and yet, earned 90/125 of the seats.
Also, the Liberals earned 14,37% of popular votes, but have 21 seats, while Quebec Solidaire, Parti Quebecois and the Conservative Party all had about the same % of popular vote each, but had less seat combined than Liberals (Conservative Party even got no seat at all)

Last edited by Noctosphere,
All maga members have made themselves painfully known for years. They're the vegans of politics. There are no silent voters on that side at all.

The democrats have a LOT more people who don't do polls and just want the craziness to stop. The extra fear of a loss will also bring out a historic number of voters to the polls. Harris is going to win.

I have a lot of gifs ready for her win and the ensuing breakdown of the far-right ;D

Sorry you can't use those gifs bud 👍

Because he won't be part of Trump's administration. So even if he yells a thousand times that project 2025 will happen, it has zero value to it.

Though I don't get the fear from it. From what I saw, it's not really that bad.
