Yes, but the Republican party didn't really throw its full support behind Romney, and Romney has been critical of Trump numerous times. Mormonism has always been kind of a black sheep in relation to Christian nationalism.

And those churches are exempt from paying taxes unless they are found mingling themselves in politics.
I don't know what any of this means, so Ima just agree with y'all

@Xzi, I can agree with this argument...but when coupled with other policy ideas (decreasing regulation, increasing energy generation domestically) incentives can be persuasive for companies to manufacture domestically increasing jobs and overall economic growth. Not a fix all by any means...which I why I stressed strategically. We need to protect some of our industries to reduce our dependence on foreign trade. Despite the economy growing (which it consistently does), I would argue our economic growth is in areas that do not meet the everyday needs of Americans (food/energy). What other ideas can help address these needs?

It's a very religious state, have you seen the amount of churches they have? Makes sense most of them would be conservatives
Heard about bible belt? Most of southern states are in bible belt and there are too many churches in Alabama.

My longtime Mormon friend told me that Alabama has much more churches than in Utah.

For anyone that doesn't know what tariffs are, they are a tax on importing from other countries. In this case, American companies having to pay a tax on importing from countries like China. Trump's claim of tariffs being paid for by those countries America is importing from is completely false, and is just his way to sway voters who assume they won't be paying as much under his presidency. But because it's the importers that are paying for this tax, how will they handle this higher price? By shifting the cost to consumers with higher pricing. 60% higher tax for China? Want your MAGA hat to cost 60% more from tariffs?

The point of tariffs was for people to make more domestic purchases rather than foreign. It would be one thing if America could sustain itself on domestic producers, but it is simply too dependent on foreign imports.
Yeah, companies always pass the cost to customers and customers have to pay.

Tariff isn't enough to replace entire of federal budget, so we would end up with wrecked economy and painful recession because most customers aren't pay for high cost products that driven by tariff.

Americans are more sensitive with economic, so if Trump and his MAGA GOP implement their agenda, they are bye bye in next election.

Congress is act like safeguard so most of his agendas are going nowhere.

That why we need to repeal 1894 and 1954 federal laws and force the churches to pay full tax if they want to get involved in politics.

I believe it's partly because of the whole tax-exemption factor on why they they did not. The individual may jump into politics, but the church will not.

I get the feeling that whoever wins, there is going to be some problems right from the get-go.

In case ya aint looked around this country and the world as a whole, there are problems right now. Like, nation destroying and world conflagration type problems. Problems I don't see the current administration, or its continuation, dealing with or ever solving well.

Harris has presented several ideas to address those needs, including tax breaks on small businesses, first-time home buyer credits, doubling of the federal minimum wage, and a federal ban on price gouging. Trump's entire economic strategy is "tariffs" because he's braindead and has no clue how tariffs work. Neither do his supporters, clearly.

I'm talking specifically from the election, adding to what already exists.

I know. And we also talk about all the hyperbolic horrors and consequences to be if there's another Trump term. What never gets talked about in here though, is how things have totally gone to shit domestically and globally the last 4 years. Enjoy your ridiculous grocery bill while the several major wars that've started on Biden's watch threaten to blow up into WWIII and burn billions in US taxpayer funds that could've been spent at home. Nothing to see here, remain calm, let's have four more years!

It shouldn't have to be said, but Biden is not president of the world, FFS. Trump knew Russia's invasion of Ukraine was coming, which is why he tried to blackmail Ukraine for dirt on Biden. So your brilliant solution to both new "major wars" is to hand more power to those that started them? The Putins and Netanyahus of the world? Trump has never failed to pour gasoline on a dumpster fire, and you damn well know it.

Have you reached out to Kamala for a place in her administration? It seems foreign policy is where your advice would best be served
