I'm having troubles getting my Action Replay MKIII cartridge to function with my Amiga A500+. Whenever I turn on my Amiga, the Action Replay screen appears, which is not supposed to happen unless I push the freeze button. It claims that a virus was identified during reset, while in fact there was none, as I had checked using some antivirus utilities beforehand, of which I had downloaded from the Amiga Virus Help Team; those were Virus-Z III, VirusSlayer II, VT-Schutz and Watchdog. All of them returned negative, vectors were clean and no viruses were found resident in memory.

When I go to exit the Action Replay, it freezes on a white screen, therefore not allowing me to proceed to the usual Kickstart screen. Pressing any keys and even cold resetting the Amiga didn't do much at all. If there is any advice that you can give me that I can do to fix my Amiga, cartridge, or both, then I would happily appreciate it.

I remember there where at least two models firmware / rom versions available.
V3.09 only supports Kickstart 1.2 / 1.3
V3.17 supports up to Kickstart 2.04

There`s also a preference menu by pressing F3, there is an option to disable virus test.

Have you inspected the cartridge to make sure there aren't any obvious issues e.g. leaking cap? Maybe get a multi-meter out to check the button is working correctly? Have you cleaned the contacts on the port/connection?

Couldn't find anything searching for H.@.$H....makes me wonder if it's just reading memory incorrectly?

Cheers, I'll try that out. Currently, my Action Replay has version 3.09, that might be why it kept seizing up my Amiga every time it boots up.

I have done beforehand. I cleaned the cartridge up real good with some isopropyl alcohol, including the connectors to ensure that there's no dust or dirt that would've not made a connection. Powered it back up, and still, same message.
