Is there anything we should be aware of? I've been using DBI since the beginning avoiding Tinfoil altogether.
Any software which install another software without your consent is considered malware, that's why I call Tinfoil a Malware.

Once you run it as a Homebrew (NRO) it install a HOS title without asking you.

Only the installer version. Because it installs a forwarder (that's why it is called "installer").

The nro versión doesn't install any tittle.

For me the NRO version installed the forwarder without asking, after that i removed from my hard drive and my console.

All are nro

But there is a self installer version, an applet version and a nsp version.

Applet one doesn't install any forwarder (but you need to run it in fullram mode).

Only the self installer has the auto update featute

But now, here in Spain tinfoil domain is blocked by ISPs so It won't auto update anymore.

You could try to change your DNS manually, it will bypass your ISP domain resolution block
Manually change NSW DNS

I recommend Cloudflare DNS
Cloudflare DNS

Your ISP will still be providing your IP address and therefore internet access, but domain resolution will be up to Cloudflare now, no domain blocked :)

1.1.1.1
1.0.0.1

Hi everyone, I followed the guide and updated to 18.1.0 with daybreak, then downloaded the Sys-Patch and Sigpatches.
The classic games start but the Aca Neo Geo games and other Arcade games like Mazinger when I start them and press + the screen "The software has been closed due to an error" appears do you know how I can fix it? thanks and good play to everyone

Try using Tesla to see if sys-patch and sigpatches are working properly. Also, the errors might be related to something else. Bad installation files, maybe? Were these defective games working before you updated?

Edit: to install Tesla...

Extract the latest nx-ovlloader zip to the root of your SD card

Extract the latest ovlmenu zip to the root of your SD card

Reboot your console and try the combo of "hold down L and D-Pad Down and push on the right joy stick" (all 3 at the same time). The Tesla menu should appear on the left side of your screen.

Thanks, I'll try, yes in the old fw they worked, but the problem depends only on these arcade\aca once I read that it depended on the fact that they can't find an internet connection and they blocked.

I believe that's one of the patch applied by sys-patch. You got the latest version?

Yes, version 1.5.0 appears :)

For those who use Aca Neo Geo and other Arcade, for some of these I read just a little while ago that they have a sort of protection and those who use 90dns do not work, as soon as you launch them they ask you for your profile and as soon as you press on your profile the game closes, the solution is to go back with B and the game starts :rofl2::grog:

Latest sys-patch is 1.5.2, but glad you found your solution.

Starting from Atmosphere 1.7.0, the support for ips kip patches was removed as it was primarily used for piracy reasons, meaning that if you used sigpatches in the past in order to run pirated games, they'll no longer work. You'll need to use either sys-patch, modified fusee.bin with support for ips kip patches restored or load Atmosphere's package3 via Hekate's FSS0. I personally suggest using sys-patch.
