A bit lost/confused

So I Installed ModMii and followed the tutorial up to the HDD drive (I don't have a USB hard drive and want to use my SD card so I stopped right before this where you install WADs). I have the homebrew channel and there is a channel called "USB Loader" but it doesn't look anything like the USB Loader GX. I also don't have the dx cIOS channel that I can see in some tutorials on Youtube about USB Loader GX.

Where do I go from here? Do I need to install the dx cIOS first, then USB Loader GX or do I just install USB Loader GX?

IIRC ModMii uses a universal forwarder which auto detects which USB loader you have installed. There is no d2x cIOS channel. Ignore what YouTube videos show, that's not a standard channel, and it sure wasn't made by the d2x cIOS team. People install forwarders for all kinds of random crap but it's not necessary, you should only have forwarders for your most used apps IMO. Like the USB loader, and maybe emulators if you use them. d2x cIOS is invisible once installed, just run the app from HBC to install and select v10 or v11 and install the recommended slots. If you have done that, you are good to go.

If he followed the modmii process he should have already installed d2x cios in wad format, no need to run the d2x installer afterwards, just launch the usb loader channel or the usb loader directly from the hbc

If unsure if you have installed everything that you should, like d2x, post a syscheck to confirm, but if u installed all the wads modmii told u to then you should already have it https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/
