You need switch with cfw. DBI. External hdd formatted as exfat. With DBI you can install games on switch from external usb drive. I have many backups and i install games only like that on my oled. I use dbi and my 1tb ssd drvie.
Hey sorry for double quote, bit it didn't work, my hdd, formated exfat, is plugged in, but it isn't detected at all, goldleaf says found drive count: 0, DBI doesn't even give me a choice to install from usb drive, please don't mind the half eaten biscuit down there it's gonna go into the trash lmao

Do you have newest dbi version from github?
https://github.com/rashevskyv/dbi/releases

You need to see browse USB0 drive option in dbi
I have newest 16.1.0 firmware

I have the latest dbi 616, as seen in the screenshot i sent, could it be an issue because it's connecting to the dock ? In your image you're using a usb c cable, the point of my post was to not remove the switch from the dock at all, if i am forced to, i'll use dbi usb install from pc

I just recently bought a brand new OLED switch and got it chipped few minutes after I bought it from a store (it's just a walkdistance from the big mall outside to find a person who can chip my OLED Switch), that person finished the job for about 15minutes. 2500 pesos well spent I guess (philippine pesos, around 50USD for americans out there).

after i got home and ready for the the software side of things to get my switch hacked but rentry.org is kinda pain in the arse to follow, I basically read the entire site for about more than 1 hour I think and still ended more confused. Seriously I wish there's a specific steps to follow like.... "if you have a OLED switch, go here for the specific steps", meh in the end, that guy in reddit on r/switchpirates posted about how to do it, the steps are just basically hopping to those specific pages on rentry.org and got my switch running atmosphere.

It is pretty simple you have an OLED so that fall under Mariko

Well, isn't that risky to go online, even when on sysnand?

Always risky to run pirated content on sysnand, there is always a risk of ban, nsp/xci have higher chance than homebrew.

I don't know why this not work in you. I dock my oled Today and test installing from dock USB. My last suspicion is your hdd. Are you sure it's fully functional? I not have problem with DBI. I tested two ssd drive. 512GB and 1tb all of them work with DBI without problem

As i suspected. My OLED and DBI working correctly. No problem with installing games from external ssd.
As you can see this drive is exfat. You must either have a failed drive. Or a broken USB port in your dock i dont see any other option.

Thank you for taking the time and i am sorry to have put you through such bother, my HDD is working correctly, this might be an issue of formating, so what i'll do, is reformat my second 1tb hdd for this, try again, and give you feedback as soon as possible.

Is there anyway to check if your sd card is fat 32 via switch? I mount it via dBi installer so i don't use (or even own) a card reader therefore I can't check it on my PC

Well I won't run pirated content on sysnand, I'll just create a Nintendo account, quit sysnand and then use linkahlo on emunand. Does that sound good?

You should be fine as long you do it correctly, you should blank out your serial # on emunand with exosphere.

Hi i updated atmosphere + sig patches and then updated firmware to the latest ver but i keep getting this error after booting:

failed to apply no9c

I deleted the old content folder of atmosphere be4 i updated everything since i had that issue before.
But this is a new one, i've tried downloading sigpatches from diff sources, tried making my own but i may be dumb but i cannot figure that out.

Either way i don't think my patches r the problem cause i'm using the latest ver from gbatemp here.
Any ideas? Thanks

Update on this one, it still isn't detected, time to try a usb key instead:

I don't know what "no9c" is and neither does Google but I'm going to assume you meant "nosigchk". Do you use Hekate to launch Atmosphere? If so, you're going to also need to make sure you updated the patches.ini file in the /bootloader folder. I know you are using the latest version from GBATemp but I want you to download them again and just replace the patches.ini file. While you're at it, I would recommend deleting the exefs_patches and kip_patches folders from the /atmosphere folder then replacing those with the ones from the patches found on this site.

Hello, i was thinking of the softmod of the V2 switch and came up with an idea, games on the switch have access to the files of it, and the micro sd, if someone makes a game that secretly has a file Explorer that can download xyzs, and if somehow the game gets on the e-shop, if you buy It and then use the dns settings (i dont remember the name It was like dns90 or sum like that) to disconnect from Nintendo services and from wifi, It would be impossible for Nintendo to ban you, so if someone makes an xyz that can run hekate and so install atmosphere and mod the switch ecc...
And you put that xyz on your micro sd card, then you open the game and install the xyz from the secret file Explorer, then you could jailbreak your patched switch?? Im Just asking because this thing is on my mind from 3 days, please tell me if its possibile or not and if im wrong i would like to know why, thanks

There are about a billion things wrong with your idea ranging from the fact that Switch games are sandboxed meaning they dont have access to the files on the Switch or how on Earth you are going to run Hekate but to me, the biggest issue is once word gets out, Nintendo can just pull the game from the eShop. That is assuming they even approve of it in the first place.
