Hacking Help Re-installing Homebrew, old Priiloader still installed

I finally figured it out. The exploit str2hax worked! Thanks to all who commented and tried to help.



I hacked my Wii around the time homebrew was originally released, which was YEARS ago. Some of my roms weren't running, so I attempted to re-install Homebrew. I deleted the homebrew files (a huge mistake) but priiloader is still working.

Please help, lol XD

What I'm dealing with:

- Wii version 4.1U (will not allow me to update to 4.3U) not that I need it...
- Priiloader version v.06, IOS v60
- Priiloader isn't letting me update to its latest version
- Bootmii says the bin file is gone
- I downloaded the supposedly latest version of Homebrew (3.9), put it in my apps folder and the channel isn't installed, nor is priiloader recognizing it.
- I have a Mac, majority of tutorials involve a PC =(
- Still have SD card with old roms and saves ==> 2GB (all i got right now)

Any and all help is appreciated!

So if I understood correctly, you're trying to install the newest version of Priiloader?

If yes, just download the newest priiloader installer and launch it from HBC.

The link states to load the HBC but I don't have it anymore. That is what I'm trying to re-install. Thank you for the link. I will run the system check after I figure out how to get HBC on my Wii again.

Can't you load HackMii Installer right from Priiloader.

Besides: "Let's delete everything and start from scratch!" is almost never a solution for "[…] ist not working correctly"

You should also be able to just use any exploit to start HackMii Installer.

You should also be able to just use any exploit to start HackMii Installer.

I overstand that deleting everything is never a good solution. I tried looking up different options, but I couldn't find a solution for my Wii version. Certain exploits require certain Wii versions. Most exploits either don't work, or need a Windows PC to complete it. All I have access to is a Mac.

Issues:

Just a thought... I believe you should be able to launch an app like YAWMM from the "Install File"/"Boot Installed File" (or something to that affect in Priiloader), and then you should be able to install a WAD of the OpenHBC to get things going. Whether or not YAWMM is able to run properly may depend on your installed IOS/CIOS's or patches.

if you uninstalled homebrew channel, wasn't possible to run boot.dol from priiloader anyways?
