Since you booted CFW at least once, you risk being banned if you go online. If you don't want to get banned, you must restore a clean eMMC backup made before running CFW.
Unless he was offline all the time while in cfw, and never went online afterwards, restoring a backup could actually be an easier cfw flag for Nintendo, since the logs uploaded to Nintendo might mismatch. They might or might not use this to flag, but this is a known thing that can be detected, while booting atmosphere itself is not something that leaves known traces.
So don't restore backups, unless you are certain you didn't go online since then, or you 100% need to.

Just being in CFW also is fine, I'm on CFW 100% of the time for years now (mostly sysclk and sysdvr), no ban yet. Same for a few friends. Atmosphere is actually designed to be used online, and the devs use it online themself.
Just make sure to never install any type of NSP/XCI (not even homebrews) to the online nand, and don't enable prodinfo blanking for your online nand. Also don't cheat or hack in online games, or fuck with the online service in any other way.

Hi, I have a question, if I launched my switch just twice in SysNand CFW mode and I went to the menu where there were all the hombrew installs, is my switch still clean to play online? if I connect it to the internet and start it in OFW?
Just going to the homebrew launcher is safe, as long as you don't install anything that ends up on the home menu screen (like any type of XCI or NSP files). Some people (like me or atmosphere devs) are also fully in CFW and don't boot to OFW, while also going online for years now.
Also, if you connected to the internet in OFW already afterwards, potential logs would potentially already be uploaded, so just restoring a backup might actually flag it it instead. Just make sure to not enable prodinfo blanking for your sysnand.

Just running cfw won't get you banned or isn't known too. Nor is running some homebrew apps. There are things like wfii safe mods. The more you do the more than her risk increases.

The minute you install something, even a forwarder it's logged and at some point banned. Also if you update anything a ban is more likely.

Nobody knows 100% and Nintendo can change things.... But simply running cfw is considered ok. If nothing is logged there's nothing to report.

But be very careful 1 strike and your out. There's no leaning from your mistake. For example running tinfoil installs itself therefore bans you.

The problem just sounds like you are exiting the homebrew applications incorrectly. You aren't supposed to exit from the homebrew app into the main menu; you are supposed to exit back into the homebrew menu. Every homebrew app has their own designated exit button that you press in order to exit them back into the homebrew menu, Use that button instead of returning to the main menu.
Thank you very much, I just did a hard reset with hacku 33 and I was able to go to the eshop. Good luck helping all these people, there are really a lot of them and thank you again ^^
EDIT : Thanks to @Kallim as well

hello ^^ I'm new to switch modding (I've modded my wii and 3ds before) but i would like to know if it would make the process of using a modded switch safer if i just never went online and used the switch primarily in singleplayer games without ever playing online modes.

Also I wanted to know if I would be able to play splatoon campaigns since I know that half of the splatoon games are their online multiplayer counterpart.

I was thinking of buying a switch v1 straight up just to mod it so I wouldn't want to spend money just to get it bricked,
what's the difference in chances between getting banned from nintendo online services and getting your console bricked?
Because I'm pretty fine with getting blocked out of multiplayer games as long as it doesn't block the entirety of the switch's connecting to wifi capabilities.

thank you ^^

You can't use Splatoon online. Or anything unless it's legal. Nintendo can only ban you from there servers.

If you do it right you don't actually mod your switch on a v1. You mod a copy called emunand which is a partition/file in your SD card. You also do this on other versions of a switch but you've hard modded.

And there's always a chance of a brick... But it's small especially done right.

Oh and you still need to block Nintendo from emunand. Use exosphere.ini and a hosts file and incognito (emunand only).

Hey everyone,

I want to emulate amiibos and after searching in the foruns, there are several topics which is very confusing.

Is there a step by step guide of where to start and so on?

oh great! just pretty much what i was looking for, singleplayer and local multiplayer gaming!
thanks for the artistic rendition btw!
do you know where i can find a v1 switch?

Just got back my Switch from being modded, and I'm getting a 2002-3539 when I try to boot into stock or sysnand. While I wait for the modder to reply to me, any ideas as to what could cause this? emunand launches fine.

They don't make them so eBay or Facebook. You can check the serial numbers on ismyswitchpatched.com or one of the threads here.

The seller may know (you'll pay a little more ).

How can I modify the text in botw for switch??
I dont need font change or size i just want to change it
I am a beginner btw :)

Hi everyone,

I modded my switch a long while ago, using info from here... Thanks very much! However, I am still pretty new to it.

I have 2 Nooby questions.

1 - My modded switch is kinda old.. It sounds like it's working a bit too hard. Would it be worth modding a newer switch? And if so, what is the best way if there is a best way?

2 - I have so far only used the modded switch for save editing. I have no idea how to create something else at all. If I wanted an aimbot for a game (Splat 3) that works in a specific way, is there a way to pay someone to help create it?

Thanks so much!

Hi! I was playing SSBU with mods when suddenly I got this blank error 2-0069. reinstalled SSBU from my game cartridge using Tinfoil (works vanilla) and Arcropolis, and I even swapped SD cards. Now, I get the 2002-4802 error. What can I do to fix this?

Hi @Kallim you're seems very knowledgeable about using modded concurrent with clean switch and are willing to share your own experience as well. Would you happened to know what is the best way to mod the save file from modded switch then transfer it to the clean switch. Here is what I have in mind please comment

1. Login and play on emunand, edit file using JKSV, then back up save.
2. Login SYS CFW, restore with save. Of course I have the physical game to use in SYS CFW.

Is this consider as super risky? Some people do the 3rd step which is restore a clean SYS backup.

Thank you

Been over a year since I last asked a question. But Im probably gonna need to provide some backstory. So was trying to play TOTK on Yuzu, but eventually decided Ill try just playing it on the switch. Already had Homebrew, Tinfoil, and previous games on my EmuNAND there. So I use Tinfoil and NUT, to try and put the XCI of TOTK onto it, but it said it was corrupted or something, so I deleted it.

Figuring maybe I havent updated Atmosphere and such, I downloaded the latest Atmosphere folder, replaced everything in there on the SD card. Booted into Emunand, cuz I was curious what version it said I was on. And when I go into system settings it says "11.0.0|AMS 1.5.3|E " Which I assume to mean Version 11 or something. So I figured Ill try updating that. However when I try to update using the system settings I get a "Server communication error has occurred. Please try again later"

Also I downloaded an NSP TOTK just in case it was better than XCI, and then when Tinfoil for some reason was having trouble downloading it, I plugged in my SD card and just copied and paste into the "Install" Section, and apparently that worked to show the TOTK on my EmuNAND screen, and I press A on it, then it shows my character icon, hit A again, then it shows the nintendo loading screen....and then "The software was closed because an error occurred"

So Im not really sure what I need to do. DO I think its because my EmuNAND is out of date? If so, how to update it when the system settings wont let me? Assuming if thats not the reason, what do you think I should do to get TOTK working?

If need more info ill provide it. Im sure I didnt provide a good enough picture so far

The normal procedure is:
1. Update Atmosphere and Hekate
2. Update sigpatches
3. Update the firmware.

You've already updated Atmosphere, I can see. Just update Hekate if you need it (highly recommended). The sigpatches are easy to find here on this forum. As for the firmware, search with google switch firmware 16.0.2. The right website should come out on top. Download it, unzip to a folder on your SD card, and then install it with daybreak (homebrew already included with Atmosphere).

Hi all. Is Edizon/Breeze safe to use on Sysnand for single player games? I have a legit copy of Totk purchased from the eshop but wanted to use some cheats in it, think it's safe since it's single player? I've been using PKHex with JKSV for 2 years with legal mons and those have been fine and still not banned, so I reckon maybe this should be fine for totk since it's a single player game? Granted I've never used edizon/breeze before.

Thanks a lot mate. Seems one of the hiccups I had was when downloading Atmosphere and updating it, I didnt also download the fusee.bin file that was its own individual thing as well, thereby whenever I try to inject the fusee payload, after loading into hekate, would always give an error.

I now successfully have TOTK on my switch playable and ready to go!

Just a random curiosity though, its no big deal but.....for Tegra that I use to inject the hekate payload.....is there a way to inject w/e Atmosphere payload instead? So that way we dont inbject Hekate, to then have us click Payloads, to then hit fusee.bin, which then loads Atmosphere. Just didnt know if there was a way I could have it before where I just inject w/e the initial Atmosphere payload is, and it just loads it right there. If not its okay though.

But seriously thanks so much!

Yes, tegra should have no problem injecting fusee.bin directly. Just put it in the payloads folder and choose it instead of Hekate payload. Glad you fixed your issue.

So you use cheat pokemon with Edizon overlay in SYS CFW?
