Apparently the GPL doesn't have an exception clause stating that you can choose to ignore your legal and moral obligations if somebody has been mean to you, so cooler refuses to adhere to it.
I'm not defending anyone but umm... are we all really on the up and up here? No one doing anything outside of legal or moral obligations with their devices?

I get what you're saying, but the Switch homebrew community is a community, and goes a long way based on common standards and respect for each other's work, so ignoring those and constantly making out that what you do by tweaking other people's code is far more special and important than all the efforts of the original authors doesn't make the community feel particularly warm toward you. Which is what it is if you want to be an "outlaw", but then whining constantly about the community not being nice to you would make you sound like a bit of a dick honestly.

(In case it's not obvious enough, "you" in the above text does not refer to you the user I'm replying to)

1. I clean installed 4ifir 1.4 (but it says 1.3 in settings?) and some game won't boot(like witcher 3) and some games sys-clk-oc will crash atmosphere(outer worlds). how do i fix these problems

Hello,
I'm glad that 4IFIR was useful to you.
In order for the Witcher 3 to work, you need to disable AM patches through the homebrew of SysDVR and reboot.

how do i fix these problems

Install fresh 4IFIR via AIO (do not forget about Stage 6 / Stage 6+, if you need it). Most likely, your problem has already been solved.

So I tried switch-oc-suite latest version and it works fine on emunand, but on sysnand overclocking above factory clocks(1.7/0.921/1600) does not work. Is this intended or bug?

This is one of the safety catches designed to prevent you from accidentally shooting yourself in the knee. There are a lot of them in OC Suite, and even more in 4IFIR. Thanks to this, I can flaunt that in millions of downloads, not a single case of console failure is known.

I tried to provide even the most unlikely scenarios to prevent the user from committing console suicide. For example, if you try to hack an online configurator and force it to create a dangerously high voltage kip for you, 4IFIR will pretend that you have achieved what you wanted, while actually continuing to operate at a safe value.
With OC Suite, it is better not to repeat the above :)

I've provided my code at various stages of the project to RetroNX assholes a hundred times. They didn't take my code. It was just another pretext (they'll endlessly come up with them, which I've long since personally discovered) to do with 4IFIR what they've done countless times with various promising projects not created by them.

If they had a task to cancel Jesus, they would have dug him up.

4IFIR, by the very fact of its existence, has proved the absurdity of dozens of absurd statements made by key members of RetroNX. Since then, out of desperation, they've stopped trying to come up with even slightly plausible arguments against me and have started openly and dirty lying, not shying away from the most despicable tactics and manipulation.

But even that wasn't enough. After all, 4IFIR (distributed completely free of charge and whose code has been available to anyone interested all this time) carries absolutely unprecedented capabilities, a free, software upgrade of console capabilities to the next gen level. The difference between a console on 4IFIR and without it is comparable to the difference between PS4 PRO and PS5.

When you see this with your own eyes, even 100 CtCaer-s (with all my respect to this undoubtedly talented developer) won't persuade you not to use 4IFIR.

Accusing me of disrespecting the community's standards is some sort of otherworldly level of hypocrisy. There is not the slightest mention of me in 4IFIR, but there are mentions of every developer whose work was used in creating 4IFIR, including RetroNX. What irony that those who don't even consider ordinary users outside the upper echelon of RetroNX as people, considering them sheep unworthy of the right to choose or make independent decisions, openly accuse me of disrespecting the community.

I'm willing to bet that even now, on Discord, they deny the existence of 4IFIR at any opportunity.

To attribute my attitude towards a dozen bastards behind the vicious bullying of my project and the tarnishing of my name to my attitude towards the entire community is yet another example of vile slander against me.

I didn't even forget about Chansey! Have you seen how he talks about me?

By the way, your signature says: "DBI download - best installer for Switch", which means that you know such respectful users as:
rashevsky
Duckbill007
Brikachu
Ask any of them honest opinion about my attitude towards the community and what they think of me. You will be surprised to hear the answer.

You've said in a million of your epic rants that the reason you refuse to do things properly (thus disrespecting the community at large and especially all other devs whose code you've used) is because of how those dozen people have treated you, so what's the difference?

Holy s**t, I found the perfect challenge for 4IFIR! A game that (in stock) renders at 640x360 (25% of native = 360p), and even in an empty location the framerate drops below 20:

Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition

In order to get stable 720p/60fps in the same scene, we need more than 12 times the gaming performance!
I haven't tested it yet (no kidding, I really haven't tested it) on 4IFIR, but I'm going to do it right now. If 4IFIR corresponds to marketing:

up to 8x* performance at 2.2x** wattage***

... then at the limit of its capabilities, in laboratory conditions - 4IFIR should show something up to 540p/60fps (with 12 watts of power consumption).

Soon we will find out how many times I embellished the real possibilities of 4IFIR - in my impudent propaganda. Place your bets and don't switch, I'll be back soon! ;)

Ah so it was you, good to know.
I’m sure it’s a complete coincidence.

Guys what are you on about? Did I do something wrong again?

Can someone explain stage 6/6+? I saw that it applies to 90% / 70% of users but don’t understand how if it can apply for my console.

You’re still measuring it wrong.

540x360 = 230400
960x540 = 518400

Pixel difference = 518400 - 230400 = 288000
% difference = 288000/230400x100 = 125%

You’re probably adding your power efficiency savings to your performance increase (again) which has nothing to do with compute power and Is inherently misleading. Your 12x number is voodoo.

Assuming same framerate and level of detail (not easy in a dynamically scaling engine) you need a little under 125% more compute compared to stock to achieve this result. How little or how much power you use to get there is irrelevant to this calculation, you’re not interested in efficiency when measuring a performance increase.

EDIT: Calculated wrong resolution on accident, now corrected.

I will gladly tell you what it is, but I cannot tell you how to apply it, since it will be interpreted as spreading 4IFIR (distribution of which is prohibited on the forum). Do you see with what a predatory look two global moderators are watching my actions? Guess what they'll do to my account and this thread if I give them the slightest reason to? Maybe I'm wrong, but something tells me that they did not come because they missed me.

Nah, we've yet to remove your Telegram channel links and why not just upload it to the Github like you did with OC-Suite? Win-Win for everyone!

If by “predatory look” you mean correcting you a second time on your dubious math then yeah, I’m keeping an eye on you since you’ve made a habit of posting figures that are complete bollocks.

640x360 = 230400
Well spotted, I have VGA on my mind recently. Let me run the math again on my handy napkin, since the equation doesn’t change here.

540x360 = 230400
960x540 = 518400

Pixel difference = 518400 - 230400 = 288000
% difference = 288000/230400x100 = 125%

That’s how much more compute you need at same detail/resolution.
*Voodoo math*
It’s voodoo. I explained to you why in the previous thread, but you insist on posting figures that are wrong. You explained to everyone how you arrive at them, but your methodology is still incorrect. That’s not how you measure a performance increase when overclocking.

You’re mixing together measurements of completely different things and end up with a figure that’s useless. You can keep thinking otherwise, but that’s what it is. Without anyone correcting your voodoo math, the average reader will have no idea what to expect in terms of performance from your overclock.

I don't get the math.

if it's 8x the performance. Wouldn't that mean the game if it runs in 60 fps, run in like 480 fps?

I did this over a week ago. No matter what forum I post on, a link to the repository will certainly be there. I would love to go back to GBA, but I feel like you guys really dislike me, I feel like I'm annoying the two of you, and as a result, your attitude towards me feels humiliating. I don't like annoying people, I don't like asking for favors. It makes me uncomfortable, I feel like an outcast here. This is the only thing that stops me, I have no ulterior motives.

As a member of the public who Cooler3D distributes modified binaries to, I formally and polited requested the source code for the current project back on 17th of March as you can see here https://gbatemp.net/threads/4ifir-p...0mhz-ram-2400mhz.604560/page-29#post-10102087

I've seen a lot of multi-paragraph rants about all kinds of things from this Cooler3D character but still no current source code. 4IFIR as a project has been in violation of numerous licenses for what is approaching 1 and a half years now.

I'm not sure why this thread is on GBAtemp if the project isn't even shared here? It was certainly smart to have a second disguised thread to fall back on for marketing.
