Is this how vid still good to use ? >
as am already on cold hax

You should always use https://wiiu.hacks.guide/ instead of a video, as most 'tutorials' will not show the most stable software to use, but rather their own curated selection, not to mention that if their videos are ad-supported, then you're essentially letting them make money off of the devs who created the guide's hard work, which is frowned upon (as maintaining the guide's web page costs money, and why should they maintain it if everyone just watches these 'scammers' on YouTube instead; and yes, that's exactly what they are if their videos are ad-supported). The manager of the web guide already has complained time and time again that these video tutorials are just made by a few people with no clue that want to make easy money, and could care less about the other guides available online. As far as they are concerned, the main guide could cease to exist, as long as they still make their money. This is wrong, and disrespectful.

This is why i downvote these videos, unless they reference their original sources.

I purchased a used Wii U that is modified with Coldboot Haxchi using a Nintendo DS purchased game. Should I uninstall that and install Tiramisu? What benefits are there versus CBHC? How do I uninstall CBHC if that is the procedure that is suggested I do?

The Wii U did not come with an SD card installed but it does boot and is updated to 5.5.6. There appear to be things installed that I cannot open, including games and such. I assume I can just remove those the normal way using the Wii U's system settings? If continuing with CBHC is preferred, what's a good default SD card setup for homebrew?

I am not worried about the NNID. I know the previous owner, but I am unable to contact them as they no longer are alive. The only purchase on the NNID is that DS game. But if I could back it up somehow before formatting it so I can use my NNID that is also being used on my 3DS, that would be preferred.

Its worth mentioning that I also believe the virtual Wii is hacked.

Should I just start my own thread regarding this?

More and more homebrews go Tiramisu exclusive.

I would recommend to uninstall CBHC, do a factory reset and after that install Tiramisu.

The third link seems fine for getting the homebrew channel running on Tiramisu, but does it also work for CBHC? I'm also unable to find a link for CHBC installer homebrew. The guide doesn't provide links and assumes you still have it on the SD card. Clearly, I don't. :(

Edit: Found it. Excellent. Thanks!

Second edit: CBHC uninstalled, NAND backup made. At this point I feel comfortable formatting the console and starting fresh. Many thanks, @V10lator for the instructions!

Third and final edit: formatted. The Wii U wigged out and asked to update again. I let it. It did. Tiramisu is installed and auto booting. Aroma is installed. WUP Installer GX2 works fine. vWii was hacked but has been updated with new cIOS according to the guide. So far everything has gone very smooth. I intend to do a second NAND backup once completed.

I've plugged my Wii U after years (those fricking news about the NAND dying definitely scared me even if after all they were a little bit click-baity)

However, it's a great chance to uninstall Haxchi and install Tiramisu and start using the Wii U again. A few questions that I've been googling but did not find a clear answer:

- For some reason, the SD that's on my Wii U can't be read by my windows PC. But the SD works fine: if I open the homebrew launcher on my Wii U, I can see a few apps (that won't show up if the SD card is removed, so I believe the files are definitely on the SD). Should I worry about whatever files I had there? or can I start with a fresh SD card anyway?

- This old SD card is a Toshiba Class 4, 4gb card (I have no idea where I got it from). Can I use a 128gb card so I create a full NAND backup and then swap the relevant files to a 16gb/32gb card? would it be worth it? (maybe if I keep using that 4gb card it would be the same?). Is the SD used for anything else besides holding the homebrew apps that are only a few MBs in size?

- This I did find answers, but just to confirm: I have my Wii U on 5.5.1U and I'm planning on deleting Haxchi first (by following the wiiu hacks guide), then update to the latest version and then start installing Tiramisu. Am I missing anything?

I have almost all of my games installed on an external drive (except Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land that came with the console). I suppose I don't have to take any extra steps about it, since the guide says everything should stay the same regarding games, saves, NNID, etc)

Thanks a lot!

Edit: This worked like a charm! For now, I've used a 32gb SD card that I had lying around (was on my Pi3 with Batocera, but since that was replaced by a Brix, it's no longer needed)

nincfg.bin is a nintendont (Wii homebrew) configuration file. You can choose to delete it if you're rehacking your vWii. Also, what do you mean by 'ps'? Also, you may need to factory reset after removing CBHC depending on the amount of hacks installed (it's recommended anyway), that way you won't have to worry about incompatibilities cropping up later that you know nothing about.

Thanks. This is just a folder on the Wii U menu. Is there anything inside (press on it) ? In case it's empty Just remove it (IIRC press on it for some more time, than it should give you the option to delete).

And yea, in case that folder is empty go ahead and install Tiramisu. It is recommendet but not required to remove HBLC before.

Hi all. I am trying to install Tiramisu, so I removed CHBC as instructed. Now, I can’t install Tiramisu. I run the exploit, and get to the installer/tiramisu screen. If I just select tiramisu, it seems to work fine, but if I select installer, it says “EnvironmentLoader: Relocation failed”. I’m not sure what this means or how to get past it.

Thoughts?

it has been a while I installed a cfw injector that runs when I use the wii u chat

is this the tiramisu? If so, it has a bug that wup installer doesnt install on usb (the 'no usb attached' error)

But if I run the exploit via browser, run mocha cfw and then the wup installer gx2, I can install with no problems in my usb flash drive.

is there a new version of that cfw injector fixing this?
