I tried to restore the NAND from a different console, because I'm a dumbass and didn't understand the issues that would cause. Now I'm bricked, not booting at all, not even getting into RCM.
I do have prod.keys and prodinfo.bin files from the new console. Will i be able to get it back to life using this guide?
switch.homebrew. guide/usingcfw/manualchoiupgrade

not even getting into RCM
Even if you would remove NAND completely from motherboard, you would still be able to use RCM.
If RCM is not working, issue is definitely not that you restored wrong backup as RCM's one of use cases is like yours - when you screw up with NAND.

got any guesses what it could be, then? it was working fine, had boot into atmosphere. went through the steps to restore via rentry/switchhackingiseasy, but i used the NAND from a different console. tried to boot into horizon, saw the hekate screen, saw the nintendo splash sreen, then went black and stayed that way. not responding to power button / reset inputs.

You need to either press power button for 12 seconds to force shutdown, or wait until battery will be depleted (which can take some time :P), or disconnect battery from PCB and connect it again.
