Football's almost back, PAX West is around the corner, and I'm sipping hot chocolate as I start a new semester of grad school. The start of Fall is so festive and getting back to the work + school grind is oddly comforting.

the ayn thor has been pretty cool so far, but temper your expectations on performance in pc games;

it's still in decently earlier stages than i expected, and when playing pc games i can currently expect 1-2 hours of battery life and it can be a fight to get 60fps in 3d games

console emulators on the other hand are a whole different story, mario odyssey for example runs so bafflingly well that it feels native to the platform, while being able to last several hours on one charge

gamecube and wii emulation seem to barely put a dent in the battery, im still struggling to understand that one

Yeah the 8 Gen 2 is pretty well documented and has great driver support. The popularity of the Thor in particular should see some really cool projects. PC games are hit and miss. Some hefty 3D games will run with few issues (Metal Gear Solid V worked for me, or at least the intro), while random indie games won't boot at all (Binding of Isaac Rebirth). Looking forward to seeing how it all progresses though.

the pc stuff seems more like locked down virtual machines, ive been trying to configure skyrim to run as well as i can which was a pain moving back and forth between the container and the game due to file transfer restrictions

there has been some extremely cool projects though like dual screen morrowind

definitely new cool things constantly appearing, like there's this new repository for dual screen projects that can be added to something like obtainium

It looks like there's this blurry entity stuck in the middle of the screen of my Switch Lite. None of my other handhelds experience it..uwaa
Was a bit tricky, but managed to make interchangeable overlays with a designated button.
Was about to start singing pink pony club when I got to the bus station as I thought no one was there. Turns out there 6 people and manages to avoid telling everyone about how much I want to dance at the pink pony club.
I've been at it for about 2 hours now, i can't imagine the holy orb being that useful to the point it's this rare,
even at lvl 6 customization.
I swear unhelpful deconstructive little pricks exist to push me off the internet! you might just get your wish because real life is way better!
Blocking software features in apps based on phone model, not because it's not supported by your hardware, but simply because you haven't bought the newest one, should be illegal.

Who does that and why? Only the phone manufacturer profits from selling new models.
As app dev you have the goal to have a successful app. Locking features based on model without technical reasons is counterproductive.

I am talking about phone manufacturers, yeah. It sucks seeing the built-in apps receive new versions, but having the new features gated because you're not on the newest model, even though they aren't hardware-constrained.

Honestly, it also just sucks in general that engineers would spend their time developing ways to lock features like this instead of just leaving them be.
Okay is there even a cheat database for Swiss that won't require me to grab everything one by one for all the games I have? Like I'm talking about a database for all Gamecube games, so I can enable 16:9 cheats for the games I'm putting on my SD card.
One of the only feelings to transcend love and hate, is lament. You hate your worst enemy, you love your soulmate, but when your soulmate is gone, you miss them. And when your enemy is gone, you miss them too.

"when your enemy is gone, you miss them too."

Do mosquitoes count as enemies?

no, thats an archnemesis, not an enemy. also its ironic you ask that because mosquitos absolutely love me. i thought "hmm, they rarely go for the hands, so why dont i wear a long sleeve" they just bit my hands instead. and usually, they dont bite once, they like triple dip
Wuh oh it seems like Nintendo has taken down a bunch of switch emulators! if you're currently in the process of making an article on here for it then that's good. if not, then can I try my best taking about it?
