Passed my driver's exam, but I'm not even happy about it.

May I ask why You are not happy about it? (regarding your license. (also consider it a privilege, not a right)

Try no longer having it, once you have [real] responsibilities (not that you don't now), like children to feed, a business to run.... a license means freedom to many, potential to those who have initiative, even in these times some called troubled... I call just another of a series of challenges... I paid USD $48,000..(forty-nine thousand, seven years ago) to get mine back when last suspended (no, not a DUI, or even a moving violation...) I saw that much potential in having it back.... it meant that much to me.

Along a similar line...
I laugh at how many people grumble at 'being alone in lockdown' when many of those very same people stayed at home, by choice (before covid) on their computers playing/chatting /surfing before, but NOW see it as a jail sentence...lol so may people part of the CB's .... Cronic bitchers club, others just want more drama and can't live comfortably unless something is going wrong or needs fixing....

Peace of mind, it's not someone else responsibility, it's an inside job, and only something we can give ourselves not something someone else can give us. Begins with taking responsibility...

The world is a huge mess. I found that discussing the topics, looking at more than one side, advancing a moderate opinion is simply not possible and not wanted. The hostility you mentioned… I said this to myself roughly at the beginning of this year. Being friendly to people in supermarkets brought me more than a few times the evil eye.

There are extreme positions in roughly two directions and I can't talk with any of the two sides – this is why I mostly stay silent (even on the forum) concerning everything about or even remotely connected to the virus. Same for the politics section in general.

My problem is that I don't see a way that this damage in society (living together with many other people) will ever be fixed in foreseeable future. I hope I'm wrong: I think this damage has come to stay and is not a temporary needed annoyance/restriction… and yes: This is depressing.

I've still got my P2 license (in NSW it's L for Learner, where you have to be accompanied by a full-license holder; followed by green P, or P1, where you can drive solo now but have a 90 km/h and a passenger limit; then red P, otherwise known as P2, where the speed limit is raised to 100 km/h; finally it's full license), because I've never cared much about "driving". I'm quite stationary; practically never go anywhere by myself, due to not being interested.

I'll get my full license some year, for sure, but...not now.
