So finally I'm posting what I got. I bought both of these for novelty only and I liked the packaging. This cost me about 11 bucks and some change total from lightake.com They have the best price anywhere on the Ace3DS which I found interesting.
Now this R4i Gold variant is closer to gold color but not quite. I'm not sure why they don't just make gold plastic or gold plated plastic. It would be more suited for the thing than just making an orange card and putting a gold tone sticker on top.
The Ace3DS, although I own it, I don't know anything about it at all. It looks pretty nice though doesn't it? Notice the clamshell type transparent plastic packaging. I imagined for a while that manufacturers would go to this type of packaging rather than the cardboard boxes not only to save space but to also make it very easy to put on hangers in shops in China. Since these things are so cheap, I wouldn't be surprised if they just hang them in plain view so people can pick them up and take them to the cash register. However I believe that all of this type of product is kept behind a counter with a clerk ready to sell these. I guess either they would be on the wall on hangers behind the clerk or inside a glass case and probably not on hangers. Or possibly hung in the back of the shop. Who knows.
Both of these come with USB transflash readers. This is pretty convenient and I did not expect either one to come with it. The one on the right looks like the reader that came with my genuine R4. I still use that to this day and it works very well with every card even SDHC. Come to think of it, my R4 does not work with SDHC as it is the original R4, not the R4i SDHC which I also do own anyway.
The R4i Gold comes with a tf reader that says DS Happy Box on it so apparantly whoever made it knew it would be used with a DS. I'm uncertain if the one on the right was the same way. Possibly they make those in huge quantities and they get packaged with various things or sold by themselves. I hear Guangzhou is like a humongous flea market basically with shipping trucks working around the clock picking up small packages from vendors to ship overseas. It wouldn't be at all surprising if these tf readers are abundant over there and get thrown with lots of different goods to ship out.
