Hey guys, I have played a few games over the recent months thanks to my new semi-gaming laptop (specs: i5, GeForce GT 630m, 4 GB RAM, Win8) so I figure I talk about my initial impressions of what I feel ive played enough to judge accurately.
TorchLight 2
Fucking awesome. I never liked Diablo. Never. But Torchlight, feels like a pretty damn good ARPG/Dungeon Crawler. I was suprised when most people compared it to Diablo. Maybe its just the Cell-shading and Character Desgin I love.
Fallout 3
I never though Bethsda could publish a game with a half-decent story. Fallout 3 proved me wrong. The story was suprisingly amazing. The way it had a wide cast of characters from the Hermit DJ Three Dog to the kooky Moira to the Intelligent Mutant Fawks. Quite the amazing game. Its Comabt system also felt dynamic and stratigic. Headshots dont just insta-kill and you actually have to pick your fights and maintain your weapons. (I know, Im Late to the Party )
Fallout NV
Compared to FO3 I hate it. It feels more like a DLC package then a new game (but seeing how its not a main entry I suppose thats expected). My biggest problem is the Theme. Fallout 3 gave use a desprete dying mankind that stuggled to do something as simple as get water. New Vegas gave us what is essentially a Western set in the future. Nobody is stuggling to survive, its biggest problem is a faction war, and it just ends up feeling that instead of the buildings being ruins of an old civilization, everyone is just too lazy to clean the damn walls. While FO3 also had Factions fighting (the BoS and Enclave) the 9 or so groups fighting to take over New Vegas just feels much more petty. However, it does feature an improved combat system over FO3, lots of guns, and Wild Wasteland is just fucking boss.
Saints Row the Third
I started playing this game, the first thing that popped in my mind was, how can you compare this in ANY way to GTA. Other then it being third person and in a city, this game feels almost nothing like it. The characters do feel and bit generic at times, but thats all good because the Story is less like something to take serious, and more for having fun. Something games seem to forget to do at times.
Plus, no other game lets you run around naked swinging a Dildo bat while wearing a cat mask, WITH FRIENDS
To be continuted a bit later.
