My gaming PC died today

I wake up in the morning and I scent the smell of something roasted, I thought that my bro was smoking in my room but I was proven wrong.
I also saw that my PC won't turn on, I hoped it was a coincidence. Then, my uber-tech n00b dad told me that I should plug it into a different output, I regret that I did that... When I plugged it in, my System block exploded a bit. Now my entire house smells like it was on fire. And guess who's fault it is?Mine, because I "...didnt take care off ur peesee!". I'm gonna send it to the computer center in my town tommorow, I just hope my HDD is still there since I can't afford to lose the valuable stuff on it.

Oh well, I't looks like I'll need to live out 1 day without minecraft...

You should try to fix it yourself man, computer places will usually rip you off big time. Also if the data on your HDD is so valuable you should probably start keeping a backup.

Teach yourself. I'm being quite serious when when I say it's very easy with all the resources on the internet. Based on your description it's the power supply that's the problem, meaning either you just need a new PSU(fairly easy to replace) or your entire computer got fried and you'll need a new everything. Either way you'll save yourself a lot of money dealing with it yourself. I guess if money isn't an issue then go ahead and take it somewhere.

I built my gaming PC for Minecraft. Minecraft is serious business.
I cant fix it myself, I'm a computer hardware n00b.
Google it. You can fix anything yourself with google.
I suck with hardware, so when my power supply went to shit I googled it and fixed it within an hour (only took so long because I had to go buy a new power supply, lol)

a new psu is so easy to install... lay the computer on it's side look how all the current wires are connected. Then unplug them, remove the PSU and install the new one.

The other problem is where to get a PSU.
I really don't care if I get rip'd-off, since I'm not the one who's paying for it.

No it's not the PSU, you dude have FRIED your computer. I can say this from experience because I left my PC on all day long WAAAY too many times downloading those 'Gigabyte' files and the monitor won't cut on. So to make the long story short. The PC was total'd, I had to do research on how to replace the parts from scratch, and finally realize that MSI MOBO sucks and should of had gotten a Gigabyte MOBO instead.

Now you have to go yourself a whole new MOBO (Motherboard), HDD, RAM, CD/DVD drive, and a few extras if you have toast'd your monitor and the tower is unusable.

When I was around 12 one of my desktops fried due to lightning, back then (eight years ago), there wasn't as much info on how to fix pc's, but despiste that I managed to fix it... Now the internet has much more stuff since then so it's much more easier to find info on how to fix something... I always fix things for myself (mostly because my usual part-time is at a computer shop), but even if it's something I've never seen before, I'll find out what I can do to fix it. =3
It's kinda fun actually. ^^

Edit: @canon - there's different kinds of frying, it might damage everything as it might damage just some parts... the best way to know is opening the desktop and check.
