Jeff Sessions to allow federal procesuctors to target legal marijuana states

Continuing their attempts to become the most unpopular administration in history, Sessions and Trump are trying to eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs in the marijuana industry and prosecute marijuana patients as well.

Remember, states' rights only applies when it's something the Republicans want. /s

Doesn't even seem like a money thing anymore. Just seems like, "how can our administration make the most people miserable?".

All this does is push it underground again while losing jobs that they are meant to be making.

It's illegal on the federal level, it shouldn't be legal on the state level. The whole pro-weed movement is approaching this from the wrong way around - first you must ammend federal law, that allows states to make independent decisions. The state can't go directly against what the federal mandate is. Bad move in my opinion, but it's merely enforcing the law that's already on the books.

Federal laws regarding civilian rights do not have more weight than states rights unless action is taken by the federal government to actually try a person in court, at which point, and only at that point, does federal law trump state laws. So, no, states are not going about this the wrong way; this is generally how federal laws are given enough pressure to change as federal law is not supposed to cover anything but implementing and enforcing immigration laws, bankruptcy laws, Social Security laws, discrimination and civil rights laws, patent and copyright laws and laws pertaining to tax fraud and money counterfeiting. The 10th Amendment covers everything else... unless it infringes on what Republicans want.

EDIT: That's why this change is so damn stupid. Up until that miserable little Keebler Elf Sessions changed things the Federal Government was committed to not enforcing the Controlled Substances Act with regards to marijuana businesses so there would never be a case brought to court on a federal level. Now the feds can, and may even be instructed to do by this administration to do so, go after these businesses all while they are ENTIRELY legal in any state that chooses to legalize it.

Ooh, what happened to states rights? I guess that only counts to the Ku Klux Keebler elf when he can use it to take away civil rights.

Nice "anti-republican" shtick. You've got republican senate and state officials fighting this movement. But yeah, let's blame Republicans.

What Foxi said, I disagree with the prohibition but at least now maybe Congress will move to remove the federal prohibition and finally let weed business get bank accounts, which they currently in any state.

What, so guys like Ku Klux Keebler can reverse it at their earliest convenience? Net neutrality was voted into law... but then Ajit Pai took it away.

"Continuing their attempts to become the most unpopular administration in history"
Nice one. Instantly antagonizing their supporters causing them to fight back, which will then frustrate all anti-Trump or non-supporters who read this, causing an all-out war. You sir, really know how to start a party.

I for one, am not entirely against the use of medical marijuana, but am highly against the use of recreational marijuana (which I believe is what is causing the problem). I live in a state where recreational is not legal, yet medical marijuana is (Arizona). I have a friend that uses medical marijuana to help with his mental state, and I don't mind it. The reason I am against RMJ is because it's THC is higher than MMJ, and THC is the drug that causes the high. MMJ has a higher CBD, which does not produce a high.

Now that I have voiced my opinion, I want to make one thing clear: the way you worded your post and title makes it sound very discriminatory against the Republican party, the current administration of the country, and also making it sound like this is against all marijuana states. What they are fighting (I believe) is the states where RMJ is legal, because it is over the counter gateway drug. And by making a drug legal to everybody, the risk factor decreases, which is one of the most attractive parts about drugs.

It is very obvious you mean to stir up a shitstorm, and I wish you luck.

Unfortunately net neutrality was not voted into law. It was voted to be classified as one thing, that came WITH laws, and now they have voted to reclassify it as something else, which comes with different laws that do nothing to protect consumers.

@Memoir Yes, lets blame Republicans. They are overwhelmingly responsible here. Originally enacted by Republicans, fought for decades by Republicans to keep fighting the war on drugs even after popular opinion changed, and now that states are governing themselves as is their constitutional right fought by Republicans again to dismantle the very states rights that Republicans try to claim they love so much.

Mate. The ignorance stems from believing ONE side is guilty. Its why I hate the two party system. It promotes the ill-gotten thoughts that we can blame a party as a whole even though you have NO GOD DAMN CLUE WHAT YOU'RE BITCHING ABOUT.

@blackwrensniper I guess all the republicans fighting this are also responsible for it happening too?
Man fuck the two party system, all it is is just "SIDE WITH ME, WE THINK THE SAME" and "HATE THIS GUY, HE DOESN'T."

Unfortunately, yes they are just as responsible because they are the ones that voted party line to appoint Sessions. Every. Single. Republican.

I hate the two party system too, but sadly it's what we have and right now the majority of states attempting voting reform are, gasp, blue states. Want the system to change? Bite the bullet and vote Dem because Republicans aren't trying to change a system that generally favors them hugely.

Want a working economy that isn't trying to screw itself? Bite the bullet and vote Republican. They are doing what makes sense for a functioning country.

@blackwrensniper Ah yes, because a handful of representatives voted for a guy, all republicans in the country are responsible
impressive leap in logic, if you could do that with your legs you'd be a gold medalist in something other than mental gymnastics.
