Since I was born in 1993, I grew up on the Sega Genesis, NES, SNES, and the consoles that were popular (And affordable) during that era. One system I was never a huge fan of was the Gameboy/Gameboy Color line. I had a Gameboy Color and liked a few of the games for it, but I was always left with the impression I wasn't playing the right games. Recently I found Lameboy for the DS so I decided to emulate a few Gameboy titles.
And man is it awesome.
For one, Super Mario Bros Deluxe is probably the best version of the original Super Mario Brothers I've played. Not only do the physics feels better than the original, but the extra features really lend to the game, and you can play as Luigi.
Another awesome game was The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. I've heard a bit about this since the release of the 3DS version, so I thought I would give it a spin and see what the fuss was about. I'm not that far yet, but I like it a lot so far. I'm at the part where you have to enter the swamp dungeon with the Chain-Chomp thing, and I plan on getting to that today. Great fun.
And for the hell of it, I started a file on Pokemon Blue. Even though it looks dated, the gameplay is still as fresh and fun as ever. The simplicity of it over the new Pokemon games is what I think I like the most about it.
In addition to these, I've also played Disney Tetris, Metal Gear solid, Mario Tennis, Kirby's Dreamland 2, and more. I feel like I discovered a bunch of lost games I had never played before and love it.
