DRM is like...

So I had a dream last night. Let me share it with you, and provide my after-dream comments (in green).

So my little brother and I (I'm 22, he's about 16/17) are off somewhere and need to get home. We have a car and I'm a safe driver, we just need a little food/drink, and a map. So we spot a convenience mart, and head inside. We pick up two 2-liters of strawberry soda, and I grab a big sandwich that's wrapped in a brown paper bag.
(I pick up some stuff I want, but with the sandwich I don't know what's exactly in the bag, similar to how you can't view an EULA/TOS before you buy a game in-store, at which point they most often won't take returns.)

My little brother goes and waits in line with the food, while I look around for a map. 15 minutes and I can't find it... meanwhile the line hasn't moved at all. I go back into the line (which is two people infront of us) and I notice my little brother's only holding one 2-liter. I ask where the other is, and he points to some girl off to the side (that was having trouble finding the strawberry soda for herself) who just finished drinking it (it seems the people in line ahead of us were there for a long time and got thirsty).
(Sharing is caring!)

Immediately the cashier (who hadn't lifted a finger to move the line forward before) comes around the desk and straight to me, demanding payment for the 2-liter. I point out that not only did I not drink it, the girl over to the side that has the empty bottle drank it infront of everbody. The cashier states that since I'm the one that picked it up off the shelf, I'm the one responsible for it, and since it was already consumed I need to pay for it. They legally have me with some legal shit, so I pay for it.
(Similar to tracking/denying by IP address, which goes by household instead of computer, and letting you possibly take the blame for somebody else.)

Well, finally the line moves forward, and I pay for the remaining 2-liter and the sandwich. Well, then a good friend of mine I haven't seen in a while notices me, we get to talking, she's hungry, I unwrap the paid-for sandwich to let her eat some of it. HEY LOOK, it's got tape all over it! What's this? The tape has magical legal writing on it that makes it illegal for me to remove the tape on my own, I have to appease the tape with a 3-hour ritualistic dance (or something else that cannot always be done) before it'll temporarily fall off on it's own?
(I need internet access for an offline game? That's not always possible.
I want to let a friend of mine borrow a game? Seems that's out of the question as well.
)

Screw this, I want my map and I want out of here.
(I'm going with another game company.)

So I head over to the other cashier to see if he has any maps. Instead, he mocks me; "Oh yeah, we've got maps heeeere and heeeeere!", as as points to a wall with tshirts on it, and then an empty wall. Both of the walls are behind the cashier stand, with the stuff they don't want to risk being stolen. An old man leans over to me and whispers "If you don't have a map you're more likely to stick around this area a bit longer and be a repeat customer..."
(Self-explanatory.)

Well, I huff audibly, quite displeased. The previous cashier notices me and calls me over... talking about how her job is so hard because people don't hand her the bills with the right face up and facing the right direction, and sometimes they have little folds in the corners she has to undo.
(What's this, a dissatisfied customer? Quick, let's get them with a sob story about how our money isn't the exact way we want it!)

I don't understand why people always have such detailed dreams, my dreams are blurry and I barely know what's going on, whereas everyone else I know has such detailed dreams.

Nice, but weird dream, did you tell your brother , if so what did he say?

A trick, though, is to start recording it the moment you wake up and realize you have a dream worth recording.
