that sounds like an awful thing to witness Ace...don't worry emergency services are really reliable with this stuff

so everybody (including you) got on the train (referring to the fact that you had to get off after 30 minutes), and left the poor girl down there? I'm in shock myself right now...

Did anyone besides law enforcement/fire assistance decide to help her?

She was pinned down, and I felt extremely vulnerable (I still do). Anyhow, even the reporters who arrived tried to help, but the first persons in place was surprisingly a priest and a retired woman. At least 20 people were planning, calling the police, or checking her condition.

We had no way of leaving the train for those 30 minutes. I tried communicating with the people outside the wagon, and did so semi-successfully.

I don't know of the current situation, although I can imagine she's in the ER right now...

Sounds like recent news from australia. Where a 3 year old boy and a 4 year old girl got hit by train today.

I've seen a number of accidents over the years, but it's never easy to watch, or to think about.

Yeah. My friends have helped me take my mind off it, a bit. I was still shaking after getting to class (and half an hour had passed already), and I could not stop sweating. I almost passed out when someone blurted out loud about it..

I'm home now, and I've talked a bit to my parents, who're a bit more informed about the situation. I've had some dinner, taken a warm bath, and I'm resting on my heavenly bed. I feel a ton better than a few hours ago, that's for sure.

From what I hear, the girl is stable, in the ER.
I can't really imagine how her parents must feel: it's really unimaginable...

@Mazor: No one has reported anything in the Swedish news the entire day, save for SL themselves. I won't be surprised if news show up tonight or in the morning, since there appeared to be photographers and other journalists on the train and platform at the time.

I hope I'm not jynxing anything but this is the type of event that gives people nightmares. To have witnessed this first hand, I cannot imagine how you might be feeling feeling right now. Stay up bro, and remember that that girl is in the hands of professionals. Try not to worry about it too much.

tjintje, I'm incredibly sorry to hear about your loss. This has been a very taxing day on both of us. We can hope that we will recover from what happens around us, and I wish you my very best. I am certain that the professionals who were with the girl in your situation were doing everything in their power to help her.

I know I'm not religious, but the shock that all of us felt on the wagon left me with one last option, as I was waiting. To the panicking passengers, I told them to calm down, and to pray and hope for the poor little girl. Surprisingly, I felt a bit better doing this. It made passengers put down their phones, put down their camera's, or their handbags, or whatever they would fiddle with in their shock. It was relieving to have many more people be focused on the girls well-being.

Some of the witness reports today are conflicting: A few people saw a 4 y/o girl, and a few others saw a 14 y/o boy. I'm with the former ones, but I wonder what's up with the conflict here...

Such a tragic accident. I wonder what the victim's parents were doing at the time of the incident.

Pretty intriguing about the witness reports though. There weren't two victims, were there?
