I'm in south western, ct. about 40 north east of nyc. we're supposed to get walloped pretty good too. i really don't think it's going to be as bad as everyone thinks. i guess we'll have to wait and see.

That hurricane almost hit our island but it was a tropical storm back then.

I'm in New Jersey and while this isn't gonna be smooth sailing, it shouldn't be that bad.

Expect it to be a bad storm and that's about it. It says like a couple inches of rain and 35-45mph winds where I live, which sucks but isn't anything to get me excited or worried.

I mean, just where the hell are 2 MILLION people supposed to go?! I can only imagine how many of those 2mil are wondering what they are gonna do or where they are gonna go and are in despair trying to figure out what to do with themselves in this situation. That's GOT to suck.

I'm in Cleveland, Ohio, so the most I should get is possibly some intense or weird weather, but not any kind of OMG EVACUATE! type of stuff.

It'll probably become a tropical storm before it hits from what I've read.

Yeah it crapped out here. .(was throwing a hurricane party) never got rain, my be a gust of wind, but tybee island got slammed. if i lived 10 more min from were i live now (downtown Savannah GA). we would have gotten rain.
I used to live in Greenville NC, an family from that area are getting hammered. lived through Fran, an that was twice as bad as this one. Irene just fizzled out, an i hope it continues to do so, Also have family in upstate n.y. an i'm sure it will have lossed all it power by time it gets that far.

I am a bit worried about this storm myself. While where I live in VA is not being hit by the "eye" it is most likely going to be hit by the side wall of the storm. That wall may spawn severe lightningsortms and twisters as well for raging winds. I work at a retail store collecting shopping carts and I am outside all day. This storm is gonna hit us around the same time I need to clock in. BULL****!

I live near coney island, We evacuated and are north with family.
