Scammer got scammed

Just posting a small conversation I had with a snot nosed kid that posted this ad:

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/vgm/1890252539.html

Wii Modder: Dude why do you have to be a douchebag and say that, you just cost me three customers because of that ad
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/vgm/1890319342.html

Me: That was the point, fuckface.

Wii Modder: People know its free, but they dont have the time to do it or figure it out, so I simply provide the service, get a life and quit costing people money

Me: Yeah. I have heard that reasoning so many times before. Get a real fucking job and stop trying to scam people.

Wii Modder: dude im 15 and its an easy way to earn money, maybe you should get a real job and stop worrying about what people are doing on craigslist

Me: I could say the same about you, shit for brains. Why are you so worried about what I posted? You do your thing, and I'll do mine. When I see your Ads, I'll post one of my own, and we won't have to worry about eachother. K?

Wii Modder: so your basically saying if I post a wii modding ad, your just going to post a ad saying that people can do this for free?

Me: and FYI...I do have a job. I take care of my son so I make sure he's not going to be a snot nosed scammer like yourself. And, Yep, thats exactly what i'm saying. and it really wouldnt have come to this if you hadn't been such a dick about it in the first place.

Wii Modder: Its not scamming if people already know what your doing and the motive behind it. your the one being a fucking dick for ruining this opportunity for people who do this all over craigslist

Me: Team Twiizers would love to hear about you. I have your email address, and thanks to one of your former customers, your phone number and address. I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind a subpoena for a lawsuit show up at their door would they?

Wii Modder: which customer?

Me: Now, why would I go ahead and give you that info? So you could harass them? Anyway, I promised anonymity. That info won't be public until your parents are served papers, once I get in contact with Team Twiizers.

Wii Modder: Okay ill stop everything now, sorry for wasting your time, even if you are serious, a lawsuit would ruin my family forever.

Me: Oh and just to let you know I was lying about the 3 customers and I havn't sold any products to anyone since June.

Of coarse the "customer" is made up, and there will be no lawsuit, but I think i'll just let him stew in his paranoia. Every knock at the door will make his palms sweat and his heart skip a beat. Just another day in the life of fucking with scammers :D

And Cory, Just in case you are a Temper...Let me just say this...you got pwned.

Comments

Wow, I wish I had that confidence instead of getting pwned at a younger age by a hacker. I swear the internet was a lot crueler to me than it is now.

Well, most homebrew applications are licenced under GPL, which means it is LEGAL to sell those programs.

And offering a service is not illegal at all.

I know, I have modded people Wiis for profit before. I however make sure to tell them the programs are available free, and it's super easy to do it.

Doesn't it specifically state that if you purchased it from anybody, you should demand a refund immediately, though? Not illegal, but amoral.

Scammer?

I think you need to read a dictionary because I highly doubt that was his intention. He isn't selling the hacks, he's performing them for others who may either lack the capacity to do so or are afraid. What's better? This guy or others like him perform the hacks for a small fee or this forum and others like it are flooded with the same questions over and over and over because as I mentioned above most people cannot or are actually wary of altering their Wii in any way and would prefer to have someone with experience do it for them.

You're a douche and you had no right to attack him in the way you did without justification. I could understand if he was charging an exorbitant amount for the service but if not, mind your own business and move along.

Small fee?
Small fee is like 5$ plus shipping.

Most people don't mod their Wii because they don't understand how easy it is.

If you linked someone to a simple step by step guide, even the dumbest of morons could mod a Wii.

The guy was a scammer, he was charging retarded prices for a 15 minute or less process if you're prepared.

Also did you see that he was selling a 'brick protection' or something service for more? THAT was an outright scam.

Your argument is baseless.

Not to mention he was SELLLING pirated games. Did you (JKR) even read the ad?

I hack my friends psp's for free -.- Yeah, Selling the pirated games was a no-no, but i do understand that alot of people are not very tech savvy, so the modding part was okay, but "brick protection"? He went way too far there, and the prices shouldn't have went over $25. Anyways, you wouldn't believe it, but there was a guy selling psp mods for $300! it cam with a 16 gb memory card, true, but it came with pirated games PRELOADED. He was also selling "specially modded DS cartridges" with even more outrageous prices.

here in the philippines, there are stalls (or is it stands???) and even stores that are just for hacking PSP's, downloading DS games (as if that wasn't easy enough. you're also forced to buy a flash card - usually a bad R4 clone) jailbreaking iPhones, etc. inside malls, believe it or not. and yeah, they get away with it.
