How tf do people get more than 6 copies for their game??

Since my game came out 1 week ago, i've been trying to post as many youtube shorts/ tiktok reels or whatever the fuck people like. They do get SOME views but it's nowhere near enough.
The game has 91 wishlists since the steam page first came out 1 month ago, and 6 copies since i released it a week ago. The click-through rate is 8.4% on steam, and idk how bad or good this is.

Idk what I'm doing wrong, I sent an email to a bunch of streamers, regardless how famous they are, none of them replied. I'm losing my shit rn. Not because I'm like "waaaaaaaaa buy my game", nah, I'm also pissed off at the fact that MY game doesn't get any attention...

..BUT THE FUCKING GAME WHERE YOU LOOK AT A COCONUT AND NOTHING ELSE, OR THE ONE GAME WHERE YOU LITERALLY FUCK A CHAIR???
OHHHH YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHA!!!

I BET IF I ALSO TRY TO MAKE ONE OF THOSE STUPID FUCKING ASS "GAMES", I'M GONNA GET ABSOLUTELY FUCKED REGARDLESS
Idk anymore, seriously.

here's the steam link if yall wanna make fun of it, im done. I hate everything, seriously:

You're one game in a sea of thousands. Do what you can, and if you feel you've hit a dead end, you've got to pick a point to just move on. No point shouting at clouds.

That game lookslike its drawn by a 6y old. Perhaps develop yourself further and deliver an actual quality games before demanding things.

Please don't take my comment as negative feedback. It is supposed to be realistic. Realism and negativity are often mixed up.

That is the same question as if you were to ask: "Why is somebody else successful on YouTube and I'm not?" Most channels never get any attention, even if they provide good content (or maybe because they provide good content).
It is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Once a channel is past a certain threshold it gets pushed by the undefined behavior of a so-called algorithm. Let's not get started on the definition of algorithm.

The world is a tough place in that regard. Everything is vying for the limited attention of the masses, who seem to be growing increasingly dull and apathetic.

You can't expect to publish a game on Steam and be successful with it. Why would anybody be interested in anything offered to them out of nowhere? Stay calm and patient. I'm sorry that I can't have a look at your game myself as I reject Steam. I classify the Steam client as malware.

(Sorry for the late reply, I only had time to like the post)

Yeah, figured it out one way or another. It's not even the content that matters anymore. It's all about the attention.
Like, "Hey guys I made this 2d platformer, it's pretty cool" "oh wow another one, as we dont have many of those already"

"GUHH HERE'S THE 5000000TH SHITPOST GAME WHERE YOU CLICK ON A PNG OF A BANANA WITH A SHIT TON OF STEAM MARKET ITEMS NOBODY CARES ABOUT"
"OH YES PLEEEEEEASE!!!"

shit's rigged.
(also I don't blame you for avoiding steam, or any digital platform for that matter. As a developer who tried to publish their game on steam, holy shit just don't, too many god damn papers I had to go back and forth in towns to get through, and also 100$ JUST FOR YOUR GAME TO EXIST IN STEAM. WOW. Yeah you're doing the right thing.)

"because they provide good content" is spot on.

My youtube channel was banned for me showing a video of me legitimately sending a 350 lb boxing bag to the ceiling, no sound edits, etc.

Now, had I posted a nightcore remix or a video aimed at kids showing them to handle syndey funnel web spiders untrained, to take loads of chemically addictive subtances bad for their hearts (drugs), and put live wasps in my mouth, _that_ would make a lot of views! But it would also be less Truthful.

How much are people's souls worth these days? I haven't cashed in mine at all.
