The Promised Neverland, Season 2
No, Norman, my favorite food will not end the anime in an abrupt montage of powerpoint laziness! I was at least expecting a 3rd season to wrap it up nicely with explanation of how the demons came to be in the first place, how you deal with them, etc.

Shingeki no Kyojin did a decent job IMHO although I did wish season 4 is where it all ends but yeah, let's go part 2 in 2022.

Well, for the Promised Neverland, at least there's the manga for that but am so lazy to look it up but that's my problem to deal with.

What anime are you guys watching? Please recommend me a funny series. Here is my MAL account.

Comments

Monster. I'm probably gonna be watching this after I'm thru with the next one on this list.

Kara no Kyoukai. I'd watch it in chronological order. I only watched the first one chronologically speaking, but I am excited to see where it goes!

Samurai Champloo.

Trigun. Srsly, this is a classic. The whole anime was even made by the manga creator himself!

Fullmetal Alchemist. I'd look into how to watch this series, because the 2003 anime starts off as being accurate to the manga until the anime outruns the pace at which the manga is being made, and then switch over to the equivalent part in Brotherhood...though there are some shared scenes in Brotherhood that are exclusive to it that aren't in the 2003 anime's equivalent, if that makes sense.

Neon Genesis Evangelion. Seeing as how interest in this anime has been sparked by its Netflix adaptation, I would caution you and say to watch the entire anime...and then watch End of Evangelion afterwards because I think both it and the last two episodes sort of complement each other. Watch the anime ending first, and then watch EoE to get the full context of what's going on...or, at least, try to. If I say anymore than that, I'd risk crossing over into spoilers.

Space Dandy. Kind of like Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, a lot of this anime is full of standalone episodes that sort of feed into a continuous plot that shares certain characters' goals being the same, but not really. Music is awesome like all of Watanabe's works!

Steins;Gate. Do not rush this one. The first half of the anime can be quite slow, but after the first half is when the gas is kicked into full gear and when things get truly interesting with actual stakes.

Cowboy Bebop. If you haven't watched this anime yet, you owe it to yourself to do so. There's a reason its considered one of the best.

Death Note. I only watched to the 2/3s mark as I heard the last third is when the quality of the story took a nosedive. Why? Well...you're gonna have to find out on that one!

Fate/Zero. If you haven't watched any of the Fate anime, played any of the games for their good "story" (that hooks you in with some very "attractive material", if you know what I mean), this is a good place to start. Unfortunately, its kind of hard to recommend Fate/Stay Night after because the 2006 anime, while being an adaptation of the first route in the game, sort of mixes things in with the later two routes in some good ways, and in a bad way when they sort of gloss over things regarding the third and final route which is mainly because its definitely the most different compared to the other two routes. I'd say the Unlimited Blade Works adaptation by ufotable (do not watch the movie made before the anime series because it's more like a highlights reel) fared a lot better in this regard, as it sticks to the main story of the route, albeit with a new ending sequence featuring a character from Fate Hollow/Atraxia (the sequel to F/SN). As for the Heaven's Feel adaptation, I haven't seen it yet, so I can't comment, but it shockingly commits to the original version of the story from what I've heard given how much of the original version of it uses some of that aforementioned "attractive material" for more than just luring "adults" into a story marred by some poorly ghostwritten scenes otherwise.

If a funny Series is what you're after, then my best ones aren't exactly the newest kids on the block.
I will, however, recommend in descending order from newest to oldest:
  • Ishuzoku Reviewers [2020]
  • Sarazanmai [2019]
  • Nichijou [2013]
  • Shirokuma Café [2012]
  • Lucky☆Star [2007]
These are titles that one can find online, from sources that shan't be named, but if you're on Netflix and looking for easily-accessible ones, then here are my funny recommendations on their service:

  • Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu | BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense [2020]
  • Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan | The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. [2016]
  • One Punch Man [2015]
  • Hoozuki no Reitetsu | Hozuki's Coolheadedness [2014]
Saiki, One Punch Man and Hoozuki have several Seasons so there's enough to binge-watch for some hours.

Almost forgot to answer the question - I just finished watching the Second Season of Dr. Stone. Very nice, but not particularly funny.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
