My tooth literally exploded

So, I've been having my wisdom teeth come in the past few months. After a lot of cancelled appointments, I finally had one set for the start of next month. They'd be removing 4 teeth (back molars), and then I'd go back in a few weeks to have another 4 (wisdom teeth) removed. So, in total, a removal of 8 teeth. Now, when you have eight teeth too many in your mouth, it kinda gets cramped. I've been having chronic headaches related to it--I just take an aspirin and wait out the pain, but it's been nothing debilitating. I also was removed from my mom's work's medical insurance, because it was getting too expensive for full coverage. Which, according to the dentist, was a bad move, because only having dental insurance won't cover everything. So, I had to further put off any appointments until that was settled and everything could be paid for by insurance.

Until today.

My tooth shattered as I was laying down.

It. Hurt. A. Lot.

There was so much pressure in my head from the wisdom teeth trying to force their way through, that my (according to google) a Premolar tooth was taking the brunt, and apparently couldn't hack it one more second longer. Cuz as I was on my bed, my head hurt something awful, and then I heard a pop and the pain instantly went away for about 10 seconds before getting even worse. The tooth had just exploded in my mouth. I was stunned for a few seconds before sputtering about and spitting out the remains of my tooth.

More than half the tooth is just straight gone. I dunno what they even do for that, but my parents are getting an emergency appointment with a dentist this week, supposedly. I dunno what even the heck. I'm still a bit dazed and tearing up from the shock and pain, but I needed to just...vent, because oh my gosh my tooth seriously just freaking shattered.

This just made me cringe. I have been having wisdom tooth problems recently as well. Nothing exploding yet..praying now it just passes. Although I don't have the kind of pain your experiencing but I can just imagine what your going through ..that really really sucks, sorry to hear it.

Hope you the best! I am really, really impressed such thing could even happen. There must be INSANE pressure for the teeth to actually shatter. It's quite a rare thing to happen too, and i can just imagine the literal hurt it must be. 8 additional teeth is terrible. I really hope you feel better and can get the wisdom teeth eventually extracted. Good luck!

Omg that sounds so awful.

Hope the dentist can fix that soon. I didn't know teeth could do that 0_o

Haven't been to the dentist in like 5 years, and my wisdom teeth are just chilling. Now I am thinking - good Lord what if my teeth explode.

@Oleboy555 America for you. I am gonna be a doctor one day who could never afford to see a doctor as a kid. I can count my doctor visit's on my fingers. Health care is very expensive. (Dental care is even more sparse. I have health insurance with no dental atm)

I was gonna make a P4 reference/joke but this seems to serious for a joke like that. I hope it gets better.

Holy shit I couldn't image that. I would probably just accept my death if that happened, I hate having to deal with my own teeth and am scared when eventually my wisdom teeth and others come fully in.

thanks for giving me more nightmare fuel.

Yikes, yikes, and yikes once more.
My older brother has similar teeth issues. Hopefully once you're sedated it'll be fine. ;)
Seriously though, that sounds scary. I hope you'll be ok.

Woah that sounds awful! Definitely something that needs to be checked out lol. Thankfully, after an xray of my mouth, my dentist told me I am quite lucky that I don't at all have wisdom teeth. Didn't know that was a thing. Didn't know exploding teeth were either. ;A; Good luck!

Chary, I'm sure they'll fix you up and I hope there's been something done for your pain management until the appointment, if needed. But as for cool things I've read on the internet, gotta admit this is up there. Just POW! Wicked.

Pics or it didn't happen!? How you go wanting to vent & rather then doing it to people are you, you turn on the computer/screen on phone open a browser & post away. Seems strange to me, i just don't get some of this sharing social experience, maybe i'm just too old....more then likely :D

@Fusion I mean, I went immediately to my parents to ask for help when it broke, but I needed to focus on venting here to distract myself, otherwise I would have just been crying from the pain lol

@Chary I guess i understand, i don't mean it to sound harsh if it came out that way, i'm just clueless on why people feel the need to share personal experiences socially is all or to do it but without some kinda "evidence" so to speak to go with it, rather then just relying on their word when someone could say they made a wish & a green leprechaun came out of wherever and punched them in the face lol you get what i mean?

On topic at least, i don't understand why the need we have to have nerves in the root of them, what do they need to feel lol our tongue is enough & will feel if food is too hot or whatever needs be.

Also did everyone know the teeth is made from the same kinda thing as our nails, but yet our nails keep growing and teeth eventually stop. :)

gosh, I am sorry to hear your situation man, that sounds really really hurt. I had a similar situation when I was in a high school when the wisdom tooth appeared, it was misaligned, and every day it was really painful until it was surgically removed.
