What is your all time favorite console?

I typically play jRPGs, so Sony is usually on my list, but Nintendo had been doing good about getting some on their systems recently too.

Currently my favorite console would still probably be the ps2, with WiiU right behind it (Mainly because of Wii games, and a few U games.)

I agree. The ps2 was fantastic! Oh the hours lost in Tony hawk, grand theft auto, and war of the monsters. Didn’t have to worry about firmware updates killing hardware functions, or being banned from online services (not that it had many anyway). Still have it all hacked and hooked up for those late night bowl packing gaming sessions. Where are my sunglasses.

Also, I know it’s not really a console, the Psp (and the hacking scene) kept me so busy. I really didn’t want to sell it, but I got a vita and adrenaline is very accurate. I miss Logan’s shadow. The online deathmaches.

I would like to reply to this post with a straight answer but I Favor all my consoles lol

N64>DC>WiiU Probably WiiU right now but then theres Playstation.... I Mean XBOX.

Atari Jaguar?

I don't really have a favorite console of all time that if it were the only left I would be fine with it. I am thankful of the NES though, even though i'm only 13 I played from the old gens to the current. So I think the NES was a great start.

The 3DS as of now has my favorite single library out of any system, especially including NDS and all the emulators. The portability is also really important to me. I would go for the vita but I think the switch is filling in all things I wanted out of the vita. But all in all I think the PS3 is my favorite system. I've just spent so many hours on it...

The wii because of its high moddability and emulation ability i used it for everything and i loved brawl and how many character and game mods i could add to it

The Wii. I just simply love the motion controls, and to be fairly honest, i don't think any modern console has been able to offer a greater experience just like the Wii offered.

I loved NES and Super Nintendo. They were and still the best console of all time today! Now, N64, Game Cube, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch sucks! Nintendo Switch have a very few AAA 3rd party.. weak! Right now, best console ever --- is PS4!!! Best console of AAA thirty party games of all time right now!

PS2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3 are some of my favorite games, not to mention Shadow of the Colossus, The Sly Cooper Trilogy, Okami and several other amazing games on the system. A close second would be the 3DS, I loved hacking it and it's my primary emulation system up to GBA games. I've probably spent more hours on my 3DS than every console I've played combined.

All time? By far the SNES. That system was so great, its emulated on just about everything. I'm always down for old school games like Zelda, metroid, donkey Kong country, etc.

For me, it’s the wii. It’s got my favorite game of all time on it, and it was the first console i owned.

1. Nintendo 64 (my favorite games of all time)
2. 3DS (my favorite handheld of all time)
3. Xbox 360 (too many years of pretty nice moments with it)
4. PS2 (never have one, but I love the games catalogue)
The others are not a top, but I love my Xbox One, the PSX, the PSP, the Dreamcast, and the Super Nintendo Entretainment System.

Wii because of homebrew. For around 50$ you can have a machine that runs NES, SNES, Genesis(Megadrive), Master System, Gameboy(Advance), some N64 stuff, and Gamecube and Wii titles. Imo the OG Wii beats the hell outta Pi's for retro machines on a budget.

I'd have to say the entire Gameboy line. They all brought great generations of 8-bit and 16/32-bit games that were incredible, portable, and best of all, didn't have any bullshit gimmicks like touch screens, microphones, cameras, or motion controls. We got many NES ports, SNES ports, and eventually Sonic games from a rival company. Hell, we even managed to get okay-ish ports of DOOM, DOOM II, and Wolfenstein 3D. The homebrew scene gave us great ports of some games as well, and we got some killer homebrew apps too, like Goomba Color and LSDJ. Flash carts expanded on the original system and opened it up to modders and developers to make, mod, and play game ROMs and ROM hacks on actual hardware. Then Nintendo even sweetened the deal with the Super Gameboy and Gameboy Player, so we could play our Gameboy games on the big screen, with yet-again actual hardware!

So hands-down, my favorite console is the entire "Gameboy" family. (DMG, Pocket, Color, and Advance.)

Obviously the PC is head and shoulders above everything else by virtue of being able to do all any console could do and more besides. There is not a gameplay style or movement in games I can't enjoy on it/via it.

If I allow nostalgia to seep in then it would be the megadrive/genesis.

If I think about it practically then the xbox 360. So many games, so much fun, still represents a lot of concepts I want to see in games and provides a counterpoint to the bitter disappointment that has been games on the xbone/ps4.

Handhelds wise... DS if I am allowed to count its backwards compatibility with the GBA. It took all that made the GBA great and ran with it.

I am surprised to see the N64 among these for people. It was a game desert at the time and aged like a corpse in one. I would not suggest people play it now, instead look at any of the remakes and remasters things got as those are by far the better methods.
PS2 wise I can certainly respect but being in PAL country it was mostly a vehicle for GTA and Tony Hawk. Shock to the system wise I would instead look to the PS1.

Probably tied between nes and ps1. Nes was my very first video game console, it got me into video games and most of my childhood was spent on it. Ps1 and the 32bit era was the most magical period for me, just seeing games like tekken, twisted metal, and toshinden in action was still the most freaking amazing thing I've seen in my whole life. Ps1 also got me into other genres which I've never experience or tried during the 8/16 bit era.

Actually, that's a tough one.
I think I'll say 360 as I have spent more hours on that system then any other system nowadays ;/

I would probably say the DS, as I have a rich history with not only buying one, but eventually how it lead me down the path of flashcarts, finding GBAtemp, and homebrew.
