A word of WARNING for those who want to get their 3DS fixed.

Yes, I know this is a blog, but I think it's too important.

On November 18th, I sent my N3DSXL to the Nintendo customer service to get my wobbly circle pad and faulty c-stick fixed. Days kept passing, and today I decided to give them a call to see how everything goes. As they said, they'll fix my c-stick and maybe my wobbly circle pad too, but this isn't what this blog is about. What I want to say is:

SDLESS LUMA A9LH DOESN'T ''HIDE'' YOUR HACKING ACTIVITIES.

Before sending my 3DS, I removed the SD so that the service people couldn't find my stuff and thinking that they would access a clean, pirate free sysNAND. Well, they know, my dudes. They know about SDless Luma. To quote the guy I spoke with: ''Have you installed any software not legally endorsed by Nintendo? Because putting in an SD card, gave me a weird menu(He knows for sure that's Luma's sysNAND).'' For a moment there, I lost my goddamn breath and just said ''No, I haven't done anything like that.'' He just said he would check into it.

I don't want to be a fearmonger, but stay vigilant, people. I am scared as fuck and shaking right now, to say the least.

did you send it in under your warranty?
if you did that was a dumb move.
I would've made a whole entire backup of everything, take off Luma,
THEN send it in.

Already been said, but the worst thing they can do is just not repair it and send it back.

It's ridiculous that they're fiddling about with the SD card and whatnot to fix a circle pad though. If I worked repairs I'd only switch it on to make sure it works in my hands (so that I don't get complaints about it not turning on after I give it back)

Why would you send your HACKED 3ds to a company that will instantly know if you hacked your device I'm sorry but this is hilarious. You could avoided this if you chose a trustworthy scene member to repair your 3ds.

Making this blog was a waste of time. I just wanted to inform people. I can't believe how disgusting people can be here sometimes. Why I sent it while being hacked, you ask? Because it was supposed to be a hardware fix, that's why. If this happened to you you would act the same as I did. But no, you have to be dicks to someone who just wanted to warn you. Thanks a lot guys.

The thing that bothers me is why they would bother putting in a sd card in the first place? they knew what was wrong with the system i would assume by the reason you sent it to them. That like if i said my fan in my laptop is broken and sent to get it fixed, then asked me about the software on my pc, i wouldn't understand why. Is not the problem of the system, the fan is.

So maybe i dunno how they run things at repairs but i do know that i don't quite understand those actions. The thing to do is just if you do any system modifications to your system. Use the first basic nand restore which should be the earliest is making on on 9.2 before any further system modifications. Hope they don't update to 11.2 and when you get it back just repatch it.... I dunno honestly. But i feel is better than any system modifications you do, never count on the the company for support ever cause the problem is, "They will not provide any service for any unauthorized modifications"

The person didn't check his SD card, he didn't send the system with one, to make it seem like it had not been modified. The problem was he inserted a memory card and the SDless luma always shows a config menu if one is not detected on the sd card prior to use. It should have just used the settings in the NAND if that was the case.

@Elysium420 it's not a word of warning because most of us have more common sense then that.

@WeedZ You don't even know me. You can't really judge me over a seemingly stupid move over the Internet. As I said, I had already taken some measures before sending my 3DS just in case, even though I was quite sure they wouldn't search for hacks in my case because it's a hardware fix. Trust me, I am not a retard(unlike some certain people here), but I am not a total 3DS guru either. I had never sent a 3DS to get it fixed before. If you want to judge me for lack of common sense go ahead and do it while not even knowing who I am.

They most likely have a diagnostic procedure for every console that comes in. Yeah, you told them it was a circle pad, but a lot of people probably describe the issue wrong. They most likely check everything on the console so that when they send it back it is in 100% working condition. For instance, they likely checked to make sure the SD card reader was working even though you didn't complain about it. It is cheaper for them to check it and go ahead and fix it if it is broken while they have it in their possession. Then they only have to ship it once, and a typical person would be happy they found something else that was not working right and fixed it.

I would guess they are going to just mail it back to you since it has been modified.

@Elysium420 you're taking it too personal. I didn't say you were a retard. people do dumb shit sometimes. I'm just saying that no one else here is likely to send hacked consoles to nenty, no matter what is removed, because common sense would suggest that they are likely to look for hacks and update it.

I don't know you, but my first impression is that you're impulsive and overly sensitive.

@WeedZ I apologize then. I still think that Nintendo is toying around too much when all I told them was to fix something which is hardware.
PS: You got the sensitive thing partially right, I am not perfect when it comes to be thick skinned sometimes. However, I am the exact opposite of inpulsive. Not that it's important in any way.
