the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

@Misledz Yes, that is the right location for the CIA files. I think this is happening to people because the patching is failing - none of the addresses to patch have been updated, which means it is unlikely to work. They seemed to be patched correctly on my 2DS, though.

Something similar also happened to CrispyYoshi and they figured out they download the wrong cia pack - but later bricked with the correct one.

Son of a bitch, LOL you were right @Crispy, FUUUUUUUUCK That's some bad text formatting, I completely didn't see the N3DS section

do you think this would also work trying to downgrade a 10.3 emunand to 9.2? just out of curiosity, since emunand is easy to replace.

"...aaaaand now I get the failed to get CIA file info error... help??" are you using something like OS X? it might have added invisible files beginning with ._ (I say this because it happened to me before)

Don't upgrade people, If you upgrade you completely miss the point of providing valuable feedback on chances of success for other people who are on the same firmware as you.

I'm not using OS X. I'm using Win10.

"like @ihaveamac said. DO NOT EXTRACT ON OS X it will not work. I know from experience" unless you can remove the dot files. you can use something like CTRXplorer to remove them. just go into the updates folder and remove them.

Bitch, why do I keep getting 00000000 instead of deadcafe???
