I don't have my text book with me or notes with me right now so currently pretty hard to do this. The HW is compare and contrast the Indian Independence movement with those of the Latin American movements.
People in India had believed in nonviolence movements and civil disobedience.
The Latin Americans had revolutions using violence and overthrowing the government. Various revolutionists included such as Fidel Castro in Cuba or Miguel Hidalgo in Mexico.
Both were repressed by more developed countries that either an economic or political upperhand.
I don't know about Latin America but since I'm from India I'll tell you about it. Here goes:
Indians revolted against the British by agitating in non-violent ways. Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian leader and he was the one who spread the ideas of protesting in non-violent ways. He started many movements. 'Dandi March' was one of them. This was to protest against the unfair salt policies. Although the revolts were mainly peaceful, there were some extremists like 'Shahid Bhagat Singh' who protested in violent ways and killed many British army men.
That's it. Hope I helped!
