Hardware Why are scammers online never using PayPal?

Why are they so afraid of PayPal? Can't they just setup a PayPal account, transfer that money from PayPal to the bank account and then they have the same result as from a bank transfer? I know that sometimes there's a 30 day lock but even if they can sell a couple of things for $2 and get trusted? When I receive money I don't have this time lock

Is there something that I don't know?

All I was intending to say is that people will always be people. Specially over the Internet. I've got scammed before with paig "gigs" (Freelace comic artist) and I've learned to deal with this situation by outsmarting the "client"
This is why I now make a password protected zip file and even if I'm sending the work they won't be able to see it until I get the pay reflected on my Paypal.
Then I'll send the password.

I don't know what kind of business you do, but just have it in mind.

I think most scammers get flagged pretty quick by PayPal, so they are basically tempting fate, then if their account does get locked they need to provide ID and link a bank account to verify their account, there is plenty of scammers using PayPal you will often see the "smash and grab" scammers on eBay posting tons of high value items for very low prices but they are often taken down within a few hours and no doubt the funds locked until they link a bank account (and once the refund requests start pouring in they aint getting the money even if they verify their ID), sometimes I wonder if those scams are actually designed to be fishing email addresses for PayPal accounts to then send phishing emails, they don't actually plan to get the money for the items but just harvest as many valid PayPal account emails

That is not how paypal work, even if someone try to scam you, the buyer can just open a case and paypal would side with the buyer. Only way they can scam you if a seller want you to mark the payment as gift, that way you won't be able to get your money back.

like on ebay it is rare for a seller to ask you to pay outside of ebay, where no active invoice involved.

Yes but PayPal couldn't get the money back because it would already be transfered to the bank account (basically PayPal would loose money)

Wrong the scammer get a monthly invoice, if there was charge back, they would lose money from their bank account, it just take a while to get a refund like a month lol

yes but the money would probably already be withdrawn from the scaming bank account before that would happen

it doesn't matter if the money was withdrawn, it'll still take the owed money OUT, even if it leads to overdraft on the scammer's end.

Only if the person giving you the money marked as gift, then they wouldn't be able to open a case about, when you buy something there is an invoice for it, if there was any problem with it people can just open a case, it is different for other payment system such as venmo

I don't think that a scammer would care if his bank account is overdrafted or not as it's fake anyway or used someone elses ID
