Only if you don't have the Shiny Charm either sadly. Both MM and SC need to not be present.

Can confirm this to be true. I had hoped that since MM and Shiny Charm, other than basically reveal PSV values for Quandra's RNG Tool, just changes things to make shinies appear at earlier frames doesn't hinder this breakthrough method. It does, now I dug up a Sun cart I sealed away because of a console ban I caused with it (used its private header on Gateway, went online with that and the legit cart at the same time), and will play through it again just for this. No need to go online with it.

Thanks to @hurricane_matt for the well explained guide and for whoever discovered this, I assume wwwwwwzx?

No problem. Admiral Fish and I discovered how the PID was generated, and wwwwwwzx figured out how to predict it and implemented it in the tool.

Any tips on finding manageable frames for a Shiny HP Ground Type: Null? The only ones I'm finding are in the millions.

The best suggestion I can make is keep exiting out of the game and try again. Thats the only way to get better frames I'm Afraid, but type: null advances pretty fast it doesn't take too long to get to the millions iirc

No tips on getting guaranteed closer frames, however I can offer an explanation on a few things to try to inspire you.

While Type:Null is a 3IV, specific HP types mean getting those IVs in specific places, so it's not as simple as needing the other 3 IVs to be the right numbers. To add on with what Gyaratoast was saying, Type:Null moves by frames really fast. Which means that proportional to, say, Tapu Lele, you may need to search 8 times the frames to get what you want, however they'll also move 8 times as fast. :)

Edit for clarification: To add on to my ELI5 Candyland analogy, the more players you play candyland with, the more cards you won't be able to draw from the game's deck. However, the deck will pass by much faster than if you drew every card yourself.

Shiny Type:Null is pretty awesome though, and I wish you the best of luck in your rng! :D

I'm curious, how do I complie the latest commit?
or should I wait until it's out?

You can wait until it's out, or use the nightly builds that wwwwwwzx has setup. I'm not sure if they would like the link posted here, so I won't do that, however we do have it pinned in the #gen7rng channel of our Discord. Be aware though that Nightly Builds aren't stable builds.

I'm aware of that, just like any other nightly builds I've used before stable builds are finally out. :P
I'd like to test that before getting to test the stable build version.

Oh thanks, I've been to that link, but didn't notice that tab. just learned how to use it.

UPDATE: It works, but apparently, The QR wild pokemon's not shiny.
could it be a bug? I know nightly builds are unstable in general.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.
